Lifetime: Intimate Portrait – Raquel Welch (2002)

Red Hot

Source:The Daily Review

Just to start off about Raquel’s figure (for no apparent reason) I think she actually has a better body now or at least in the last 10-15 years than she did in the 1960s. She got stronger and developed curves. I saw her as somewhat flat before that, but that’s me. I have photos of her in her late 60s early 70s where she still has that hot adorable baby-face which she’s had her whole life. But with beautiful curves to go with it. When I think of goddess’ she’s at the top of the list. Here’s a women in her seventies and collecting Medicare and Social Security and yet she’s still gorgeous and very adorable and still has a great body. She’s an angel sent down from Heaven or some place giving millions of men pleasure every time she speaks, or makes an appearance.

But she’s a hell of a lot more than that. I’ve heard people say that she’s never had a hit movie, or has never been in a good movie. And yet she’s been in a lot of movies where she’s had big roles where at the time they weren’t hits, or even make money are now cult classics and very popular today. Movies like Myra Breckinridge which 45 years later is still one of the funniest movies of all-time. Hannie Caulder, The Last of Sheila, Mother Jugs and Speed, where she’s part of a private ambulance company and perhaps others. One thing I respect about her is that she’s taken a lot of risks that could have hurt her career that didn’t pay off at the time, but 30-40 years later look really good as far as movies. Like Myra, Hannie Caulder, The Last of Sheila.

Raquel is not the greatest actor ever, but she’s someone whose more than a Hollywood Goddess who has real talents other than looking great. To me at least to be a Hollywood Goddess you have to do more than have goddess looks, but like Lauren Bacall, or someone like that you have to be able to act and entertain as well. She’s a very good actress if not great one who doesn’t have a whole list of hit movies that she’s been in, but has had big roles and has done well in smaller movies that have stood the test of time. And end up becoming hits on DVD, cable and other places. And has made a great career for herself as an entertainer and not just an actress. But someone who is also a successful singer, dancer and even author and still going and looking strong today.

Reason Magazine: Terry Michael: Bernie Sanders, First Libertarian Socialist?

Libertarian-Socialist?

Libertarian-Socialist?

Source:The New Democrat

Bernie Sanders, supports Freedom of Speech and doesn’t defend political correctness and try to censor people who he disagrees with, or who say things that might be offensive for people on the Left. He actually talks to people he severely disagrees with like speaking at Liberty University this week. He doesn’t want government telling people what they can eat and drink. After all he’s represented a major ice cream maker in Vermont in Congress both in the House and Senate since 1991. He voted against the 2001 Patriot Act and against the 2002 Iraq War Resolution. He’s pro-choice on abortion, sexuality and many other issues. Here’s a Democratic Socialist who generally speaks in favor of the U.S. Constitution and our Federal form of government and defends it.

Vermont is known as a socialist-liberal state. Some people might call that socialist-libertarian, or libertarian-socialist, but that what that means is that they are a very liberal on social issues and doesn’t want big government involved in our personal lives at all. Even to try to protect us from ourselves. But they believe in socialism when it comes to human services and social welfare and will pay the taxes to pay for those government services. When I say Bernie Sanders is the moderate of the New-Left, this is what I mean. Yes socialist on economic policy, but wants big government out of personal lives especially a nanny state to try to protect us from ourselves. Unlike the mainstream New-Left in America that doesn’t really put any limits on what they believe government can for people. Even preventing us from hearing speech we may not like.

With Bernie Sanders, you’re not going to get a soft Neoconservative who thinks America doesn’t do enough to try to police the world. Unlike Hillary Clinton. You also won’t get someone who gets most of their campaign funds from Wall Street. Unlike Hillary Clinton. You’ll get someone whose been the same politician ideologically as they were in 1981 when he became Mayor of Burlington, Vermont. Big government out of our personal lives, but big enough to see that everyone has a shot at a decent life. And to see that no one has to go without the basics in life. Like education, health care, health insurance, housing, to use as examples. But whose not a Marxist who wants government to try to run the economy. You get someone who even though they are a Democratic Socialist has people on the Far-Left and Far-Right who disagrees with him on a regular basis.

Barbara Walters Interviews of a Lifetime: Goldie Hawn (1982)

Golden

Golden

Source:The Daily Review

To me at least Goldie Hawn is one of the cutest, sexiest, hottest, comedians of all-time. She’s literally one of the funniest women and people who has ever come out of Hollywood. The airhead the way that Goldie put it as far as how some people see her is completely not true. Airheads don’t produce hit movies by themselves which is what she’s done with Private Benjamin. Whatever you think of that movie it is one of the most popular movies of all-time. I see Goldie as the funniest actress of her generation, but Sally Field, Bette Midler and Diane Keaton, Kathleen Turner, come close. But because Goldie is so cute and her comedic timing she doesn’t need a script to be funny. She does that simply by being herself and how she carries herself.

I believe that Goldie gets the adorable airhead image because she’s so adorable with the baby-face and personality to match and in a lot of many and still today pushing 70, she’s still very funny and comes off as goofy. But you’re not going to find an actress/comedian this good and intentionally this funny who doesn’t have real talent and intelligence to go with it. She’s worked with Chevy Chase, Steve Martin, Kurt Russell, all great comedic actors and I at least believe she’s always been the funnier person in those movies. Especially Housesitter with Steve Martin from 1992. Not a great movie by any stretch of the imagination, but she plays an adorable, funny, sexy, hippie and Steve Martin plays a some stiff stuck snob in the movie.

I’m not saying that Goldie Hawn is the best actress ever, or even her generation. She can do dramatic work and has done that even though she probably brought her humor to those roles as well. But she’s great at what she does. She knows who she is and plays that very well. A gorgeous, baby-faced adorable sexy actress, with a great sense of humor and timing, to go with a quick intelligence. Similar to a Joan Rivers, or a Carol Burnett she doesn’t try to do things that might be out of her range. But instead uses her great talent and gets the most out of it. Similar to John Belushi who was once asked, “why do you only play comedic parts?” And Belushi said something to the effect, “why not, someone has to make people laugh and I’m really good at it.” Goldie Hawn is a great comedic/actress who can play dramatic parts, but she’s successful because she makes people laugh.

Brookings Institution: Ron Haskins: $2 a Day, A More Complete Picture

Food Assistance

Food Assistance

Source:The New Democrat

I agree with Ron Haskins here that when today’s Progressives say that Americans in poverty only live on $2 a day, they tend to leave out things like public housing, food assistance, Medicaid to use as examples. All of these benefits that go to low-income non-workers and unemployed workers. All of these benefits are obviously worth money and help people in poverty pay their bills and survive in the short-term. Plus all the benefits that people get from private charity as well. Like extra food, blankets, clothes, furniture even. All of these things that we all need to live well and survive in America that go to low-income people whether they work, or not for free and they all have cash value.

The way for more people on Welfare to earn more money is to either go to work, or get a good job. And where government can help is help low-income people find good jobs. And if they’re also low-skilled empower them to finish or further their education. Public assistance in America was never designed for people to live comfortably and to feel like they are part of the middle class. Especially when you have to be out of work, or have a low-income job in order just to qualify for public assistance. The idea is to encourage as many physically and mentally able people to become independent and work with a good job. So we have as small of a poverty population as possible which gives us more resources to help the less-fortunate.

One of the reasons why I would like to see a 10-12 dollar an hour minimum or living wage in America at least for adults who have finished high school is to encourage more low-income people to work. And then apply the $7.25 minimum wage to people on Welfare for a forty hours a week. Have people on Welfare take the first job that they are qualified for and give them real work experience. As well as assistance for child support and education so they can get themselves the skills that they need to get a good job. Like finishing high school if they haven’t done that, junior college, or vocational training, empower them to start their own business’s even and even work from home.

Today’s Progressives, Social Democrats really, seem to believe that everyone born in America is entitled to at least a middle class income for simply being live in America even if they didn’t earn that income form their own skills and what they bring to the market. The problem with that is once you encourage people to not earn their own living and not work for it that is exactly what is going to happen. You’ll see more Americans decide, “why should I finish my education and get a good job when Uncle Sam is just going to give me a check every week or month that covers all of my bills and allows for me to live comfortably?” Plus throw in how expensive and national basic income would be. Even if you have that you’re still going to have to have a lot of deciding to get educated and earn a good living for themselves.

Public assistance is social insurance. You collect from it to help you get by in the short-term while you’re rebuilding your lives, or a building a life for yourself and your family. But unless you’re disabled it is not meant to live off of at least not indefinitely, but to help you get by in the short-term. And one thing that you can also do with social insurance is to prepare people and empower people to take control and charge over their own affairs. That comes with education and a good job, economic development, infrastructure, small business loans, to empower people who are struggling to get on their own feet and no longer have to live in public assistance at all. You don’t move people out of poverty by giving them bigger public assistance checks. That just encourages more people to get on public assistance. Especially if they’re already struggling.

From The Doors Portal

This photo is from the same performance that Jim Morrison and The Doors gave on German TV from Frankfurt, Germany in 1968. 1968 unfortunately was the last year where we got to see Jim Morrison as a functional, musical performer, before he sort of mentally collapsed and went almost completely crazy in 1969 and was even arrested in Miami, Florida. He’s only 24 at this point in 1968.

Jim Morrison

Source:The Doors– The Lizard King Jim Morrison: Live From Frankfurt, Germany in 1968.

It’s a rare treat that you get to see Jim Morrison and The Doors perform in color. Even though they came out and became a hit in the late 1960s most of their concert footage and music videos were done in black and white. Almost like watching music performances from 1955 or something even though color video and footage for both TV and movies was pretty common if not expected by 1968 when this video in Frankfurt Germany came out.

But since this video was shot in color, you get to see Jim Morrison and The Doors the best blues rock band I believe of the 1960s playing in color. With Jim Morrison performing in his go to black leather suit and suede cowboy boots. And you get to see parts of downtown Frankfurt, Germany as well. The song Hello I don’t think is that great of song. But it has a great guitar and drums beat to it and with the Lizard King and his great voice and with the timing down can make ordinary lyrics like “hello, I love you”, sound better than they actually are.

And then you throw in Morrison’s skin-tight black leather jeans and concho belt that almost made him look like his crotch was sticking out (and that is as graphic as I’ll get) and you had women who simply were in love with him especially when they got to see him perform up close and wanting to touch him. A big reason why you would see women jump up on the stage trying touch and grab him while her performed in the 1960s. So you put all of these things together and you have a pretty good video here.

The Rape of Justice: Jeff Rense Interviewing Eustace Mullins- ‘Joe McCarthy and The Kennedy’s’

Eustace Mullins

Source:Bit Chute– The Father of McCarthyism: Senator Joe McCarthy.

“TheRapeOfJustice-DeletedYouTubeVideos”

From Bit Chute

Here’s a radio interview I guess on the Joe Rense Show, or whatever that show is called with Eustace Mullins. Eustace Mullins was one of the top conspiracy theorists in America in the 20th Century. Part of the so-called New World Order crowd who saw the Federal Reserve as some dictatorship. Who was anti-semitic and believed the Jews were trying to run the world.

So to have a man like this believe that what Senator Joe McCarthy was doing with his McCarthy hearings in the Senate in 1953-54 was a good thing and that a lot of good came from that, is not surprising that someone of that background could believe all of that nonsense. (To be nice)

I mean to call Franklin Roosevelt a Communist when he and his administration helped create the U.S. National Security State that not only won World War II and defeated the German Nazis, but also gave America the strength it needed to fight and win the Cold War and defeat Russian communism, gives you an idea how far Eustace Mullins played out in right field. Probably somewhere around 1000 feet if not miles from home plate. He might even need binoculars, or a telescope to see home plate, or even centerfield from how Far-Right and conspiratorial he was.

But Joe McCarthy wasn’t by himself. He not only believed that Communists were going to takeover the U.S. Government, but had a lot of support on the Far-Right in America who believed the same thing in the 1950s.

I’m sure that Joe McCarthy wanted to find Communists in the U.S. Government both Truman and Eisenhower administration’s, but his ultimate goal was to run for president and run as the top anti-Communist Cold Warrior in America. And run for president in 1960 and use his investigating committee as his launching post in order to accomplish that.

That obviously crashed and burn with a Republican Senate along with support from Senate Democrats the minority party back then voting to censor Senator McCarthy in 1954. Because both caucus’ believed that McCarthy went too far and hurt a lot of innocent Americans who had nothing to do with communism other than perhaps knowing Communists, or meeting them at functions.

Sargon of Akkad: ‘Illiberal Progressives’

Sargon of Akkad

Source: Sargon of Akkad– New-Leftists, believe in Marx, not God.

Source:The New Democrat

“The modern progressive movement is, in most ways, directly opposed to the classical liberalism of the Enlightenment.

Despite this, progressives are happy to allow people to call them liberals because of the fine reputation of liberalism.

Cultural Libertarians:Breitbart.”

From Sargon of Akkad

I said before and Black Lives Matter is a perfect example of this that Bernie Sanders is the moderate of the New-Left. Again Bernie Sanders, self-described Democratic Socialist who lives up to all the principles of democratic socialism including even Freedom of Speech. What were these Black Lives Matter protesters doing? Trying to shut up Democratic Socialist Senator and presidential candidate Bernie Sanders from speaking.

One thing that Liberals and Democratic Socialists have in common that we don’t have in common with Marxists and other collectivists both Far-Left and Far-Right is that we believe in free speech. If you don’t believe in free speech, you’re not a Liberal. It would be like someone who says they’re conservative even though they are anti-capitalist and Freedom of Religion.

I would also argue that today’s so-called Progressives who are really the children of the 1960s New-Left, as well as alive back then and part of that movement are not very progressive. You need to believe in progress and advancing progress and policies that accomplish progressive goals in order to be a Progressive.

When you try to limit free speech in America and even limit the free speech of people who are already on your side like a Bernie Sanders whose a Democratic Socialist, you’re not creating progress there. What you’re doing is regressing and choosing to do so. You’re saying free speech is bad, because it means that you might hear things that you do don’t want to listen to.

Free speech is exactly that: it means that everyone gets to express themselves and speak freely. But that we are part of a community and it might mean hearing things we don’t like.

Newsmax: The Hard Line With Ed Berliner

Ed Berliner

Source:Newsmax– The Hard Line with Ed Berliner: not exactly the most creative name for a talk show. Of course I guess that’s more creative than The Ed Berliner show, but what isn’t?

Source:The New Democrat

“With the second GOP debate on the doorstep, Hard Line host Ed Berliner calls for the American voter to stop being so incredibly stupid and start paying some real attention to the issues at hand.”

Watch Ed Berliner here Newsmax

Wow! That is my far the most important and meaningful thing that I’ve ever heard from Newsmax. Other than their documentaries which are actually pretty interesting. There is not a single thing that I disagreed with on Ed Berliner there. He went right after the American voter and put the blame squarely on where it should be which is the American voter. If you don’t like corrupt politicians and candidates, don’t freakin vote for them! And that is as nice as I can be on that. If you’re not smart enough to keep up with what politicians do and what they say and to check up on their records, or you don’t think you have the time, or you don’t think that voting is awesome or whatever and just for nerds or people like that, don’t waste your time and the people’s time by voting.

American politics and American politicians can only be as good as the people that they are supposed to represent. Even corrupt candidates and politicians have to get elected to hold office or hold onto office. Which means voters hold most of the power here and get to decide who represents them. You have a smart educated voting class who do their homework and knows who is for real and who is telling them what they want to hear and the good people will get elected and reelected and the crooks and phonies will have to find real jobs and have to earn those jobs. Like selling used cars, or investing in real estate, or creating so-called reality TV shows. Actually those jobs are real jobs compared with serving in Congress, running political campaigns.

The only reason why someone like a Donald Trump who is a one-man reality show called Who Wants Donald Trump to be President can even get as far as he is now before he crashes and burns like one his bankrupt companies is because we have a voting class in America who are simply looking for people to tell them what they want to hear. And don’t bother to research if what they are saying now comes anywhere close to what they’ve said in the past. The Donald Trump of 2015 ideologically is nothing like the Donald Trump of 2008.

The Donald in 2008 was actually fairly centrist and was probably even a Democrat if not Independent. Who voted for Bill Clinton and supported Planned Parenthood. But his so-called supporters probably don’t know that. Because that would require doing something other than listening to soundbites, political commercials and watching speeches. We only get better politicians and politics with better voters who do their homework and vote accordingly. And we don’t have that right now. Instead we have people who are looking for the next hot candidate who looks like they’re from Hollywood, or who’ll tell them what they want to hear.

Jaclyn Smith: Jaclyn Smith 1998 Intimate Portrait- The Best of Charlie’s Angels

Baby Jackie

Baby Jackie

Source: This piece was originally posted at The Daily Review

I probably think of Jaclyn Smith as an actress last, because of outside of Charlie’s Angels and a few guest TV appearances in the 1970s and even in the last few years if you’re a fan of CSI which I am, her acting career I don’t believe has been a big focus of her professional life. She’s a goddess who has used that to promote her business career. And I’m not talking about sleeping her way to the top or anything like that. But she’s this gorgeous if not hot baby-faced adorable Texas sweetheart and has made a great career for herself in fashion and showing women how they can look great as well. And whatever you think of the Charlie’s Angels series and I would be one of the first to tell you it wasn’t a great show, she is by far the most successful of the Angels.

Jackie is my favorite of the Charlie’s Angels. Farah Fawcett is overrated and became a star mostly because of her gorgeous adorable looks who perhaps didn’t grow up and burned out real fast and died early in life. Kate Jackson, is a very good actress and funny and also very pretty and very cute. With Cheryl Ladd and Shelly Hack I think they were looking for the next Farah Fawcett and I don’t know what they brought to that show. But Jackie was a true Angel a Goddess who could also act and has a good sense of humor. Who almost forty-years later is still very active and still doing very well. I don’t think you can say the same about any other actress on that show.

Charlie’s Angeles was a hit for ABC because of the three girls on the show. Women love seeing strong women on TV and women who are in charge and don’t get pushed around. Guys love seeing beautiful sexy women kick ass. Today shows that feature beautiful sexy female cops, or law enforcement officers, or private detectives, who kick ass are very common. CSI, Law & Order SVU, are just a couple of examples of that. But in the late 1970s and early 1980s that wasn’t very common. Charlie’s Angels was truly groundbreaking TV for how they featured strong independent women. So in that sense it was a great show and historic. And Jackie Smith was a big part of that and I believe the star of that show.

Rachel Maddow: Bernie Sanders Consistency

Vermont Democratic Socialist

Vermont Democratic Socialist

Source: The New Democrat

This video of Bernie Sanders would have been much more enjoyable to watch if Rachel Maddow wasn’t in it, or I didn’t have to hear her speak. She’s just one example of why MSNBC is so unwatchable and why they’re going to change their prime-time lineup. According to Rachel, Bernie Sanders has served in both the Congress and the Senate as if they’re separate institutions. I guess she’s another American who failed social studies in high school, or didn’t bother to take it. And could get use out of taking a U.S. Government course. And why we’re somewhere around 40 when it comes to education in the world.

What is appealing about Senator Bernie Sanders who is still the only self-described Democratic Socialist in Congress, but not the only one, just the only one with the balls to call them self a Democratic Socialist, is his consistency. Other than consistently attacking, or going after Republicans, he doesn’t sound like a politician. Unlike Hillary Clinton he knows who he his and what he believes and always has. He doesn’t figure out what office he wants to run for and then decide who has to be and what special interest support he believes he needs to win that office and then figure out what his positions are going to be based on that. Because the man already knows what he believes and why he believes it and was introduced to himself before most of the country was born and knows exactly who he is.

I believe Senator Sanders is running for president because he actually wants the job. Unlike a Ron Paul from 2012 who was running for the most part to gain national attention for his libertarian message. Senator Sanders wants to be President of the United States and believes he at least has a competitive shot at winning the Democratic nomination for president next year and then winning the presidency. But again, because he knows who he is and what he believes and why he believes it and is a man of great character he’s not going to say whatever he believes he needs to win. Which is something that if America had a lot more of in our politicians then a lot more Americans would bother to vote, because they believe they would know who they’re voting for and why.
