Human Events: John Stossel: ‘The Economy Needs no Conductor’

Source:The FreeState

There’s been this endless debate in America in the last few years about what creates economic and job growth. Is it the private sector or public sector. Does government actually create any jobs, well the answer to that question is yes. In the sense that they create government jobs that can contribute to private sector job growth, by rewarding contract to the private sector that then hire additional workers. To perform the new work that their contract requires, to complete the new work.

But what really creates jobs, is consumer demand. When people need to buy things or want to buy things and have the money to do so, then they go out and buy those things, which leads to economic and job growth to meet the new consumer demand. The way to create job growth, is through economic growth. And government can help and hurt in several ways.

They can help buy keeping taxes down, so consumers have money to spend.

Only having needed regulations that can be understood and doesn’t make employers jobs even harder. And make their cost of doing business more expensive.

And they can help with things like infrastructure investment that creates work for construction companies and builds and repairs, new roads and bridges around the country. So people can get around in an efficient way.

They can help with Energy Policy, by allowing the American energy industry to capitalize and produce all the natural resources we have in America.

Where government can hurt the economy, is through over taxing. For example passing Tax Hikes on people who can’t afford to pay them. So now they have even less money to spend.

Over regulating to the point that no one understands the regulations and they aren’t even be enforced. Because government doesn’t even understand them.

And they can hurt the economy by overspending. Running up huge debt and deficits, driving up our interest rates. Making everything more expensive for everyone. Which results in everyone spending less money. Which is what happened in the recession of the early 1980s and early 1990s. And they can hurt by not trading enough and over taxing private companies. Making their cost of business more expensive.

It’s really consumer demand that’s what drives economic growth, that leads to job growth. So as long as people have incentive to spend money and have the money to spend, then they’ll do those things. So what government can do, is try to ensure that consumer spending is always high. That we always have a need to spend money.

Cletus Hunnicutt: ‘1972 Year in Review’

1972 in Review LP Side 1 Part 1

Source:Cletus Hunnicutt– Far out, man! LOL

“News highlights of 1972. Presented by the Longines Symphonette Society. “The news, the events, the personalities as they happened as you lived them.”

From Cletus Hunnicutt

1972 was a great year, well for my family anyway, because it was the year that my brother Alex (who won’t go nameless) was born. And what a year to be born in and even on this day being in the middle of the Vietnam War, anti-war movement, Watergate, the 1972 presidential election between George McGovern and Richard Nixon, a year of disaster movies like Skyjacked, The Poseidon Adventure.

Two great movies, Skyjacked with Charlton Heston and many other great actors and The Poseidon Adventure with Gene Hackman and many other great actors as well.

The 1970s was an interesting time to begin with. The whole decade, there didn’t seem to be one slow year in the whole decade. We were either at war, in recession, or going through one political turmoil after another.

So my brother didn’t pick a dull year to be born in and it was a great time to be alive of you really wanted to be living will all the changes in culture with all the great movies and music and sports.

Awful decade as far as the economy and perhaps people’s quality of life. But a great time to be alive, if you could afford it.

Bel Jim: Carol Vorderman- at 2012 British Grand Prix

“CAROL VORDERMAN BRITISH GRAND PRIX. 2012 UK MILF”

Source Bel Jim

Carol Vorderman is a goddess in tight jeans and t-shirts. Well, in this video she’s wearing a long sleeve blouse tucked in to her tight denim jeans, but she’s still a goddess and that is a sexy look for sexy women as well. And then you add the boots to this outfit with her body, and you’re talking about a woman that could stop race cars going at 180 miles and hour because the driver loses complete focus on the race and stops to check this woman out.

I’m just glad she has been around for the low-rise designer denim jeans revolution of the last fifteen years or so. And the skinny denim jeans and boots revolution of the last ten years or so, so guys can really check this woman out. Who has the body of a professional athlete like a female track runner or a tennis player. Someone who works out on a regular basis and eats right, because they have to, to be as successful as they possibly can be.

Keith Hughes: US Federalism For Dummies: American Government Review

Source:The New Democrat

Federalism for dummies or for people who aren’t capable of learning anything important or staying awake unless the lesson is given in an MTV like format especially in our valley pop culture world. But Keith Hughes does a very good and accurate job of describing what Federalism is in his video. Any real Liberal or Conservative should be a Federalist or at least respect federalism, especially if they are in state government or a state politician. Or even a U.S. Senator in Congress representing their state in Congress.

Because Federalism is about allowing for the states to managed their own affairs and telling the Federal Government to get out-of-the-way that “even though you are the most powerful government in the country, you are not the only government in the country and that the states and localities have responsibilities and powers and people to serve as well so they should be allowed to do so”. I’m a Federalist, but a Liberal Federalist in the classical sense that I believe the states should be able to manage their own affairs, just as long as they are within the United States Constitution.

Meaning they are serving their people equally and not discriminating against their residents based on race, ethnicity, gender, religion, sexuality. And that they aren’t trying to start their own military or create their own currency. I’m not anti-government or even anti-Federal Government. It’s just that in a country of three-hundred and ten million people with fifty states that is in between, two oceans, I mean America is a huge country in many ways, plus with all the political diversity that we have, that you must have a limited not small, but limited Federal Government to only conduct the affairs that effect the country.

Like national security, foreign policy, terrorism, interstate crimes, interstate commerce, but that the states and localities should be able to conduct the affairs that they have responsibility and the knowledge for. Like education, health care, public housing, public assistance. And that the Federal Government can come in to assist and to see that everyone is being treated fairly. But not try to run the public services for each state on their own as if they have all the power.

Federalism or limited government is not about anti-government or small government. At least from a liberal perspective, but that in a liberal democracy as huge as America is, you don’t want to centralize so much power in one authority because of course absolute power corrupts absolutely. And you want the state, locals and more important people to have the power to be able to manage their own affairs as well.

Rusty Staub: Visits Montreal

Rusty Staub Visits Montreal

Source:Rusty Staub– visits Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

Source:The Daily Times

“Baseball great Rusty Staub of the NY Mets and Montreal Expos talks about his life in Major League Baseball. Watch some great footage of Baseball Hall of Famer Rusty Staub.”

From Rusty Staub

One of the first mistakes that the Expos made was moving out of a baseball park in Jarry Park and moving into a football stadium in Montreal Olympic Stadium that is huge. People didn’t like watching baseball at Montreal Olympic and if the Expos needed a new baseball park, a football stadium that was fairly well-suited for football and soccer, was not the way to go.

What the Expose needed was to build a modern Jarry Park for the Expos, or perhaps a dome stadium where the roof opens. But design it for baseball, which is how the Montreal Olympic Stadium was supposed to be designed for in the beginning.

What the Expos got instead in the late 70s was a football stadium with a roof that didn’t open and a concrete hard astroturf field in Montreal Olympic Stadium, just when the Expos were starting to become pretty good. And the franchise probably would’ve been saved in Montreal with very good teams that Montreal and the Province of Quebec would’ve supported.

AlterNet: Edward Harrison: A United States of Europe? What it Will Take to Save the Continent From an Economic Collapse

European Union flags
Source:Free State MD

AlterNet: Opinion: Edward Harrison: A United States of Europe? What it Will Take to Save the Continent From an Economic Collapse

The European Union created the Euro currency in the late 1990s because when they were a continental union of 350M people or so. But weren’t one country that could respond as one to whatever the crisis’s or issues they were facing. They are basically the United Nations of Europe, but a lot more efficient and saw the power of the United States growing after the collapse of the Cold War and decided they need to move as well.

Especially after the Soviet Union had collapsed in 1992 and China, India and Brazil emerging, with Japan still an economic power. And these countries are huge, with the smallest country being Japan 130M people. The largest country in the European Union in population is Germany 85M people at the time, but they are now down to 80M people. And were feeling a little overwhelmed with all these huge countries with all of their influence. And the EU being made up all of these mid size to big countries, but none of them with a lot of world power by themselves.

Thats why the European Union was put together sixty years ago. As a response to the power of the United States and Soviet Union. Because these Euro states knew that by themselves except for maybe the United Kingdom, they didn’t have much power on their own. But together and unified, when they agree, they feel they can match the power and influence of these world powers. Especially with the Russian Federation emerging again as both a military, but also an economic power. Thats now energy independent and with an economy that’s just getting stronger.

Russia is also growing in influence, this is why the European Union was created and the European currency so these Euro states could have more influence in the World. On paper the European Union and Euro currency sound like good ideas. Unifying one huge market that’s larger than the United States in population. And a Union of nothing but developed nations. And with four of the largest economies in the world. Britain, Germany, France and Italy.

But again they aren’t one country, that can respond to different issues as they come up. Unlike one country with a federal government, they have to work together and be unified to make any decisions. But one country with a federal government, with an executive and legislative could do these things. And with power like that the EU could solve a lot of their problems. And meet their economic and fiscal issues in a more efficient way.

There are several reasons why we won’t see a United States of Europe. But we may see a United Federation or Federal States of Europe. And they have to do with ethnicity, language and culture, as well as nationality. This would easily be one of the most ethnically diverse countries in the world with around 400M people. And would probably have the largest economy in the world.

A brand new huge country without a majority ethnicity. Each state would have its own dominant ethnic group and language. But there are several reasons why Europe could unify. Again because they would be a major economic and world Power, that could defend themselves and dwarf Russia economically. All these States speak English at least as a 2nd Language. So they would have a unifying language that their federal government could work in as well.

I don’t see the United Kingdom ever becoming part of a Federal Europe. Too much ethnic and national pride in Britain, that already has four major ethnic groups. But the other countries from Portugal in the Southwest, to Italy in the Southeast, to South Ireland in the Northwest to Poland in the Northeast, could form a Federal Europe and all of these States could have one country. That could match these other World Powers in several areas.

Patrick J. Buchanan: The Socialist & the Social Darwinist

Source:The FreeState

As much as President Obama may campaign as a Progressive Populist who runs on class warfare and someone who believes in “soaking the rich” to take care of the rest with Federal social programs, he’s not. You gotta remember Barack Obama is a politician. The President that Progressive Democrats want him to be, is not the President he is. If he were that President and candidate, wouldn’t of gotten elected.

The Ralph Nader’s and Dennis Kucinich’s of the World, can’t get elected President in today’s America. The way President Obama is campaigning is to appeal to so-called Progressives to get their vote, what he’s telling them is that. “We have the same or similar goals”. but then governs differently to accomplish those goals, to do it in a way that he believes works. President Bill Clinton used the term Opportunity Society, that’s how he ran for President and how he got elected President, which is creating a society for everyone that gets a good education, works hard and is productive.

Low-income people who have been left behind in the economy will have a solid opportunity, to make as much out of life as what they put into it. That not just the 10% of the population will be able to do well based on what they produce. But the other 90% of the country that works for the 10% will be able to do well in society as well. To be self-sufficient, get a good job and not live off of public assistance. Thats what an Opportunity Society is, a society of opportunity, good opportunities for all, that want a good education work hard and be productive.

An Opportunity Society is something that Barack Obama has tried to create ever since running for President and being President. He’s not a Socialist, he’s not a Democratic Socialist. At best he’s a Progressive in the FDR or LBJ sense, not today’s sense. The main reasons why Progressive Democrats don’t like him, he doesn’t believe in soaking the rich to take care of everyone else. He’s a Liberal Democrat, a Moderate Liberal at best really, doing the best job he can in an economy, where we’ve basically been starting over.

“CAROL VORDERMAN TIGHT BLUE TOP AND JEANS UK MILF”

British talk show host and denim diva, in Los Angeles, California in 2012, perhaps out for lunch, showing off her beautiful body, in a very tight, blue, t-shirt and her sexy, Levi’s denim jeans.

Carol Vorderman is this very sexy beautiful British woman who is like fifty-four years old now. But probably looks and acts like a woman in her mid thirties or around forty. She is a celebrity talk show and game show host in Britain, or at least was one at one point. Not sure what she is doing now, but she is very popular in Britain and pretty popular internationally for her physical appearance.

The way she looks and the way she presents herself. She is known for short tight tops and wearing skin-tight denim and leather jeans as well. And she wears boots with them and wears these tight sexy outfits on her shows and when she’s out in public a lot.

Haven’t seen many women fill out a pear of classic Levis tight skinny jeans better than Carol Vorderman and if she’s doesn’t get a guys attention in those outfits, not many other women will. And she is a pleasure to check out.

Unity & Diversity: The European Federation: An Introduction to the Nation States

Source:FRS FreeState

A European superstate going forward makes very good sense for Europe for several reasons. Economically at least for the next ten years or so, would have the largest or second largest economy in the world. Either Europe or America until China passes them, as well as developed country of around 400M people or so. Depending on how they drew the map of their United Federation, that would replace the European Union.

The EU is essentially the United Nations of Europe, but a lot more competent and relevant. It would also makes sense for Europe in foreign policy as well as national security and in the War on Terror. Because they would have a large enough military and law enforcement to defend the country that would replace NATO. And a unified foreign policy so their message would be clear. They already have an executive which is what they call a Commission. Their version of an Administration, which is what America, Mexico , Russia and several other Federal Republics have.

Basically an executive branch with a President and Ministers and they already have a legislative branch a Parliament, as well as judicial branch. Europe has already been down the road of becoming a superstate for about sixty years now. But haven’t gone completely forward with it. Most of Europe at least West of Russia and the other Slavic republics, speak English at least as a second language. And the Euro States could still operate in their native languages, but the Federal Government would operate in English so the whole country could communicate with each other. But of course a European Superstate would be a major challenge with all of the National and Ethnic Pride in Europe. Which is probably the main reason why this has never happened before.

There a lot of questions that would have to be solved before a European State could ever happen. How would the map be drawn, the United Kingdom would never want to be part of this. Scandinavia is basically a country of its own with a lot of land, almost the size of mainland Europe West of the Slavic states. Thats very wealthy and energy independent that could defend themselves. The Slavic states aren’t ready politically or economically and all have questionable human rights records.

And I doubt Europe would want the Slavic states and of course the Russian Federation would never be part of Europe. They are an economic and military superpower waiting to happen on their own and can get their on their own within 10-20 years they will be a major rival to not only Europe but the United States as well. The Balkans and Turkey, similar issues as the Slavic republics. And Turkey is more part of the Middle East anyway than Europe and the Caucus states, again similar issues as the Slavic states. But a Western European Union as one Federal Union, would be the next superpower in the world.

So a European Map to me would look like as far West as Portugal and going as far East as Italy in the South. And then as far West as Belgium in the North, big state to Germany or maybe Poland in the North. Making Europe a very large country physically about the size of Mexico but with about 400M people huge population. The other questions have to get to national and ethnic pride, the role of the Federal Government and what would it do. Which is why I believe they would have to have a federal system. And not a big centralize central government.

Giving the state governments a lot of authority in how to run their states, on most economic and social issues. But where each State would have to comply with the Federal Constitution. Similar to America and where Brussels the capital of Europe would be responsible for managing the currency, foreign trade, immigration policy, energy policy, foreign policy, national security and interstate law enforcement. And perhaps setting National Standards in the other areas but not running them. So each state would know they would still have plenty of authority to run their state. But where they would be economically, and physically secure with the Federal Government.

A United Federation of Europe as a Federal Republic makes a lot of sense in several areas. Especially with the emergence of China, India, Russia, Brazil and even Mexico. This would make it much easier for Europe to take care of themselves in several areas. But national and ethnic pride is what’s holding this union from happening.

The Tonight Show With Johnny Carson: Ann Margret & Johnny Talking About the Middle Ages

Source:The Daily Times

Ann Margret saying that she doesn’t live in the past or the future. Well that would be physically impossible to do anyway, unless you have a time machine. But I take her point that lives in the present and takes it day by day. She also said she doesn’t know what middle age is. I could understand that with the face and body that she still had this point and perhaps today. When you’re that adorable and then add gorgeous to that. how you supposed to know what middle age is. Because you’re always baby-face and gorgeous.

Ann Margret is one of the top goddess’s that this world has ever produced. And I’m just glad she left her native Sweden for America as a little girl, or perhaps the rest of the world never knows that. Or at least not to the degree that we know today. A hot baby-face women with a great body, who can act sing and dance and make you laugh. Just so sweet looking like she couldn’t scare a fly even if you wanted to and looking like she would never want to.
