Imagine being a member of a frat house in college and one of the conditions of being a member of that house, is that you have to drink alcohol all day, or smoke pot all day. So now you’ve been a member of this frat house for a month, drinking nothing but alcohol, at every meal, smoking pot all day, perhaps eating marijuana brownies when you are actually hungry.

Or, you are just a confined mental patient who sees flying tomatoes with wings and killer ants killing bears while you are awake. I think this is what your mental state would have to be for you to actually believe that you can just stay in office after your administration just lost an election and nothing would happen to you as a result for trying to just stay in office after your term expired.

I just don’t see how an intelligent, moral, sane, sober, person, could actually believe what the Trump White House was contemplating after they lost all of their 2020 election cases in December that year. What would they have done on January 21, 2021, after Joe Biden has just been sworn in as President and now is the President and Kamala Harris has just been sworn in as Vice President?

Now on January 21, 2021, the Biden’s with their staffs are headed to The White House and arrive at The White House, but the Trump team is still there like it’s just another day.

I know what would’ve happened . The Secret Service or FBI would’ve stepped in, knowing that the Trump people are still there and haven’t even started packing up and getting ready to go home and enter the private sector. They would’ve been kicked out and escorted off The White House property and perhaps even arrested for literally overstaying their welcome at The People’s House.

I’ve blogged about this before on The New Democrat :

“Another interesting point being what Robert Reich said that it doesn’t natter how much you borrow, just as long as that government borrowing is used for promote economic growth. And he said those government investments being things like infrastructure, job training, education, all things that I support, but I would disagree that you should borrow the money to pay for those investments.

The other interesting point being that there’s no set number as far as how large the national debt and deficit needs to be, even as a percentage of the economy. But with Maya MacGuineas with the great counterpoint being that we don’t want to find out what that number is before out economy crashes because the American dollar is not worth anything and no one, including the U.S. Government can pay any of their bills.

My point for the Robert Reich’s of the world: if deficits and debt doesn’t matter (which is not what Reich said) then you don’t need taxes. for anything that government actually does. Reich said in this interview that there is actually a limit to how much the U.S. Government can borrow before it’s too much. But then he said that now is the time for more government borrowing, because the interest rates are now, which just begs a certain question and answer.

Why are our interest rates so low? Because the Federal Reserve up until last year, kept them low. But then they started raising them last year to deal with high inflation and high borrowing, to deal with the rising national debt and deficit Part of President Biden’s and the last Congress’s social welfare package from last summer, was to deal with the national debt and deficit, the so-called Deficit Reduction Act.

Anyone who pays taxes and pays their own bills in general, knows that inflation, as well as the debt and deficit, have been major issues in the American economy the last two years. And the Fiscal Responsibility Act of 2023 deals with inflation, as well as the national debt and deficit.

Again, if deficit and debt doesn’t matter, then government, including the U.S. Government doesn’t need taxes for anything, because it now has unlimited borrowing authority. And no serious economist actually believes that even the Uncle Sam’s government, has unlimited borrowing authority.”

Stephanie Kelton makes one good point here. I don’t completely agree with it, but she’s right about inflation where she says and I’m paraphrasing:

“It’s inflation that matters, not deficits. When inflation becomes a problem, (like right now) that’s when you know your deficit is too high.”

Well, guess what, when you run trillion-dollar deficits every year (and we’ve been doing that since 2020) inflation will be a problem.

Inflation is what the Federal Reserve worries about the most. Raising interest rates, which can also be a big problem for middle class consumers, is the Fed’s way of telling Congress and The White House, that your deficits are too high and you need to get them down for the sake of the economy. The Fed fights inflation by raising interest rates.

Higher interest rates, makes it harder for not just government’s to borrow money, but everyday Americans as well. This is money that could be sued to buy an apartment, a house, start a new business, expand a current business, buy a new car, save money for college, etc, all very important features in the American economy.

When interest rates are high, the average American, (which is most of the country) can’t afford to borrow money for things that they need to do to live well. When inflation is too high, the basic necessities in life become too expensive for most Americans.

Deficits don’t matter? Try convincing average Americans who work very hard everyday just to pay their bills, that their government’s deficit doesn’t matter and that inflation an high interest rates are just a myth.

“Jacob Anthony Angeli Chansley (born 1988),[1] also known as the QAnon Shaman,[2] Q Shaman,[1][3] and Yellowstone Wolf,[4][5] is an American alt-right conspiracy theorist and activist who participated in the January 6 attack on the United States Capitol,[6][7] for which he was convicted of felony charges of obstructing an official proceeding. He has been a supporter of President Donald Trump and a believer and disseminator of the QAnon conspiracy theory.[8][9][10]

Chansley attended demonstrations in the Phoenix, Arizona, area starting around 2019, in particular in a march for climate.[11][12] At rallies, he promoted conspiracy theories supporting Trump, and he has been a counterprotestor at Black Lives Matter events. Just to answer the question whether or not Jacob Chansley (better known as QAnon Shaman should be eligible to vote and run for office as a convicted felon: I believe as a Liberal Democrat (meaning someone who believes in liberal democracy) once you’ve paid your price and have done your time, especially when you’ve pleaded guilty for your crime or crimes, yes, you should not only be eligible to vote, but also run for Federal office.

American convicted felons are American citizens as well and once they’re out of prison and have fully paid their price to society, they should get their democratic rights back. Especially felons who’ve pleaded guilty and have taken responsibility for their crimes. Even for people who don’t believe in democracy, (and when you are an insurrectionist , you obviously don’t believe in democracy) you still have the same democratic rights as people who not just believe in democracy, but love democracy, and vote whenever they can. And this apples to Communists in America who don’t believe in democracy, as well as the far-right in America who don’t believe in democracy either.

As far as QAnon Shaman: I guess he’s having a hard time finding a job right now, even with the unemployment rate under 4% in this country. Maybe he’s just looking for a way to get onto the taxpayer funded payroll and is looking for cushy job that pays in the 6 figures, where he only has to show up to work 6-8 months out of the year, but gets paid a full-time salary for less than part-time work. Which might be why he’s running for the U.S. House of Representatives, which is a perfect place for people who don’t want to work, at least not very much, but who make good money and get to talk a lot and not even have to make sense while they’re speaking.

I’m not worried about an insurrectionist serving in the House of Representatives. Why? Because they’re already there? As many as 80-90 House Republicans are still officially denying that Joe Biden won the 2020 presidential election. If Shaman gets elected to the House from Arizona, he would probably just be replacing another far-rightist, or get defeated by a mainstream Democrat in a 3-way race.

Well, just for the record: Donald Trump JR. is 6’1 and is 46 years old. Eric Trump is 6’4, maybe 6’5 and 39 years old. I can understand why Alina Habba might be confused these two men for boys, because of the fact they have a habit of going on live TV, looking like they’re just getting back from a 4 week bender (especially Junior Mint) and come off as college frat boys, on live, national TV and have a tendency to freak out like little boys on live TV, when they don’t get their own way. But these two guys are actually still fairly, young men. Men being the key word here.

To sort of paraphrase Ben Mesielas: when the facts are on your side, you argue the facts. When they’re not and you are still trying to win the argument anyway, like a compulsive liar, or professional con person, (like Donald J. Trump, to use as an example) you attack the opposition whose making the case against you.

As Ben Meiselas pointed out, Alina Habba has had multiple opportunities to cross-examine every witness that the New York Attorney General has presented and question all the evidence that NYAG as presented in court and do that in court, but has purposely chosen not too. Why? Because most if not all of the witnesses that have testified against her client, Donald Trump. Like his two adult sons and daughter, who should be pro-Trump witnesses, for the simple reason that all these folks used to work for the man.

At risk of sounding like I’m not the President of the Ted Cruz Haters of America, (I don’t know whose the most unpopular member of Congress right now: Ted Cruz or Marjorie T. Greene) I’ve never liked the man, but when he was first elected to the Senate and perhaps during his first 4 years in the Senate, I thought to myself, Ted Cruz is a real Republican.

Pre-Donald Trump, Ted Cruz was somebody who believed in both civil liberties and property rights, as well as a limited foreign policy that wasn’t designed to use the American military and tax dollars to try to police the world by ourselves. In the early and mid 2010s, pre-President Donald Trump, Ted Cruz was basically post-George W. Bush Neoconservative and post-Tea Party-Christian Nationalist. He was basically a Gen-X version of Barry Goldwater, a true constitutional Conservative.

But then Senator Cruz runs for President, essentially gets crushed by Donald Trump (just like everyone else in the Republican field) but does better than everyone else other than Trump. And after DJT becomes President, I guess to finally occurred to Senator Cruz that he’s not just a Senator from Texas, but a Republican Senator from a Texas, in a party that no longer even believes in Republicanism, let alone the U.S. Constitution and that this is now the MAGA Nationalist party of America.

After DJT is elected President fairly and squarely (to use a 1950s phrase) Ted Cruz figures out that he needs to now get inline to kiss Donald Trump’s ass in public and then pay him for giving the pleasure of kissing Donald Trump’s ass, or go back to Texas work as lawyer for the rest of his career, because his political career would then be over.

In just 6 years, Ted Cruz goes from a Barry Goldwater constitutional Conservative, to an Alex Jones wannabe to makes his living, keeps his political career going as a political entertainer, who writes books, gives speeches, perhaps even writing articles, promoting pure bullshit.

We’re talking a about a man in Ted Cruz whose a Harvard Law School grad, who also graduated from Princeton, who once worked for the Solicitor General of the United States, who perhaps was beaded to becoming a U.S. Federal Judge himself, perhaps Attorney General or U.S. Justice, who now promotes the idea that Joe Biden didn’t win the 2020 presidential election. I mean if Ted Cruz was ever sued for defamation, he would probably admit under oath that he’s an entertainer, who doesn’t believe in most of the conspiracy theories that he promotes. Which is exactly what Alex Jones did last year in his lawsuit.

We’re not talking about a dumb man or a crazy man, in Ted Cruz. The opposites are true. But what we’re talking about is a professional bullshitter. The Alex Jones of Congress, at least in the Senate. They’re plenty of Alex Jones wannabes in the House as well.

I don’t want to make light of Judge Aileen Cannon or the case that she’s presiding over, because we’re talking about what could possibly be a treason case against The Donald J. Trump. But of the 3 felony cases against Donald Trump, this is 3 most important.

We know that Judge Cannon is friendly towards Donald Trump. We know of all the 3 judicial districts that Trump is being tried in, Miami, Florida and Dade County, is the most friendly to him, of that 3. The other two cases against him, are in Washington and Atlanta, which are both, big cities, in big metro areas, that are overwhelmingly Democratic and anti-Donald Trump.

So unless Judge Cannon holds to her May 2024 deadline for her trial to begin, even with all the discovery, motions, and appeals that will be brought in her trial, the Washington case and the Atlanta case, might already be underway. And her case might have to be the 3rd one anyway, because of all the classified material and security clearances that will have to be made in her trial.

And Donald Trump could already be headed for conviction both in Washington and Atlanta, by the time Judge Cannon’s Miami case is underway. Or perhaps because she gets removed from her case because of how friendly she is to Donald Trump and his lawyer and how bias she is towards Jack Smith’s Special Counsel lawyers in this case.

“So to put this in more street or in hipper terms: NYAG has the goods on Ivanka Trump. At least in the sense they know about her involvement in the Trump Organization, especially during the mid 2010s and they know what she knows about her role in the Trump Hotel in Washington. She was only on the stand to confirm what she knows for the court record and get all of this information in the court record.

Imagine if this was a well-known murder case and everyone even on the jury, knows that the defendant is guilty, or at least committed the killing or killings, but the prosecution presents the video tape of the defendant doing the killings and present all the DNA evidence, fingerprints, that the defendant left at the crime scene, no alibi, reason, motive, opportunity, ability, anyway, has all the witnesses testifying, etc.

All the prosecutors are doing in the Trump fraud case is entering into the record for the judge, what they already know for the judge. You know, just in the off chance that one of the jurors just happened to be out of the country and doesn’t have any access to any technology what soever, don’t even subscribe to a newspaper or magazine, lives and works alone, no friends, or family, etc. Perhaps this one juror is an urban Amish person or something. ”

If you were expecting Ivanka Trump on the stand yesterday to get up there under oath and call the judge’s wife a whore, or Letitia James some evil, crazy, bitch, or something, or say that her father Donald Trump is an American hero, whose being persecuted by left-wing, Un-American, lawyers, because he’s wealthy and is a candidate for President again, you are so mentally high right now, that you could reach out and kiss the moon.

As a lot of other people have already said, including Harry Litman, Ivanka is not just the smartest and most disciplined of Donald Trump’s children, (at least the adult children) but she’s probably smarter, more disciplined than her father. I know right, being smarter and more disciplined than Donald Trump, is like being more moral and having more integrity then your average mobster. (Which seems to be Donald Trump’s dream job anyway) Why even mention that?

Ivanka is smart enough to know that this is not trash/tabloid TV, (what some people call reality TV) this is real life. And when you are either under investigation or being prosecuted yourself, or just a witness to someone else’s crimes, what you say in public, can come back and bite you.

Ivanka was under oath, she knew about Trump Org’s Deutsche Bank loans and the Washington hotel project from 2015-16, all the paperwork about these facts were presented to her, including the false statements. She knew it was her job (assuming she wants to stay out of prison) was to simply acknowledge the facts about her involvement in her father’s company and what she knew about her father’s involvement in the company.

Ivanka wasn’t in court yesterday to perjurer herself, or to create some new so-called reality TV moment for herself, to drive up her ratings, like physically assaulting the prosecutor and being carried out of the courtroom, while she’s calling everyone a whore or a bitch, or something. She’s smart enough to know the difference between what’s called reality TV and what is actually real life. And in real life, we are all held accountable for our bad behavior and decisions.

“I think if Ivanka has her way, she won’t say much if anything tomorrow that could possibly hurt her brand (as they say in reality TV/celebrity TV world) or her father Donald. But she’s not going to be in control of the hearing tomorrow. Judge Arthur Engeron and NYAG prosector Kevin Wallace will be in charge here. And prosecutor Wallace will decide what questions are asked of Ivanka and like with her brothers, she’ll have a choice here: answer all the questions as truthfully and honestly as she can, or plead the 5th.

Ivanka was involved in the financing of a major Washington hotel project that the Trump Organization was putting together in in 2015/16. She knows about Trump Org’s finances, at least during that period before her father was elected President and she moved to Washington to work in his White House.

So Ivanka could act like a comatose patient whose just waking up, or someone whose suffering from a concussion. But unless she has a doctor’s note that says she’s too sick to speak truthfully about what she knows, she’s going to have to answer questions about her involvement in the Trump Organization, or plead the 5th.

I guess Ivanka could refuse to answer NYAG’s questions truthfully, or plead the 5th, and be held in contempt. But can you really see Ivanka Trump in an orange, jail suit? I doubt that would be good for her brand either. Again, as they say in reality TV/celebrity TV world. Not my words, necessarily.”

“To sum this up and career prosecutor Nick Ackerman already talked about this during the CNN video: NYAG already knows what Ivanka Trump knows about the Trump Organization’s financing of their Washington hotel back in 2015-16, that she apparently made 4 million dollars from and they have the paperwork and documents to prove that.

This is just a matter if Ivanka will acknowledge that under oath, or play braindead, maybe she forgot to bring her memory to the courtroom, etc. But NYAG will have the paperwork with her signature on it, making it clear that she signed off on that paperwork, since she was in charge of that project. And it’s just a question whether or not she honestly acknowledge that under oath, which her brothers already did for their role in Trump Org’s financing, or risk perjuring herself under oath.”

What I wrote on The New Democrat yesterday:

“The New York Attorney General Letitia James and her prosecutors, already know what Ivanka Trump knows about her role in her father’s family was, especially in the mid-2010s, when she was in charge of their Washington hotel project. And if her lawyers were doing their job, (which is an open question) they prepared her for that before she entered the New York County State courtroom today.

NYAG knows about the Deutsche Bank loans that Donald Trump and his kids, including Ivanka, were trying to get for this hotel project. So playing braindead and acting like she has the world’s worst memory, especially under oath, would be a braindead play on her part. Especially when NYAG has her paperwork and what signed during that period for this project.

And apparently so far, at least from the reporting, she’s not playing braindead, or playing an Alzheimer’s patient under oath. She’s simply acknowledging the paperwork that NYAG has put in front of her, all the documents that she personally signed off. Which as Ben Meiselas said in his video, is devastating for her father and his Trump Organization.”

Imagine if this was a well-known murder case and everyone even on the jury, knows that the defendant is guilty, or at least committed the killing or killings, but the prosecution presents the video tape of the defendant doing the killings and present all the DNA evidence, fingerprints, that the defendant left at the crime scene, no alibi, reason, motive, opportunity, ability, anyway, has all the witnesses testifying, etc.

All the prosecutors are doing in the Trump fraud case is entering into the record for the judge, what they already know for the judge. You know, just in the off chance that one of the jurors just happened to be out of the country and doesn’t have any access to any technology what soever, don’t even subscribe to a newspaper or magazine, lives and works alone, no friends, or family, etc. Perhaps this one juror is an urban Amish person or something.

If I had to sum up the Republican Party’s underperformance in 2023, I would say this: it’s the culture war, stupid. Stupid being the MAGA wing, which is the Far-Right of the Republican Party,. Which actually isn’t very religious, (at least not in any traditional, classical, or American sense) but who base their politics around region, culture, class, and unfortunately, even race and ethnicity.

When MAGA candidates run in general elections, they run their campaigns as if they’re in some ruby red state or district, when the fact is, they might be running in a district or state that’s actually more 50-50 as far as Republican and Democrats, or perhaps even leans Democratic, but maybe leans Republican, but is more of a white-collar, center-right community. Communities where the people there, including the Republicans, don’t push the culture and social issues, but instead are more interested in the economics, crime, and national security. Not whether there are gays in schools, or too much non-Northern European immigration, too many Democrats voting, too many people who are voting, period, etc.

Yes, Virginia leans more Democratic now because the state is more urban and suburban now. But urban and suburban voters are the voters than even Ronald Reagan was competitive and won over back in the 1960s and 70s as Governor of California and in the 1980s as President of the United States. They used to be solid, center-right, Republican voters.

And when you have Republican candidates thinking they can just win elections with rural voters, in rural communities, and just win with blue-collar, Anglo-Saxon-Protestant, male and older female voters, they’re going to lose in states like Virginia and even Kentucky today, where half of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, lives in Louisville, which is one of the biggest cities in America today.

“To sum this up and career prosecutor Nick Ackerman already talked about this during the CNN video: NYAG already knows what Ivanka Trump knows about the Trump Organization’s financing of their Washington hotel back in 2015-16, that she apparently made 4 million dollars from and they have the paperwork and documents to prove that.

This is just a matter if Ivanka will acknowledge that under oath, or play braindead, maybe she forgot to bring her memory to the courtroom, etc. But NYAG will have the paperwork with her signature on it, making it clear that she signed off on that paperwork, since she was in charge of that project. And it’s just a question whether or not she honestly acknowledge that under oath, which her brothers already did for their role in Trump Org’s financing, or risk perjuring herself under oath.”

The New York Attorney General Letitia and her prosecutors, already know what Ivanka Trump knows about her role in her father’s family was, especially in the mid-2010s, when she was in charge of their Washington hotel project. And if her lawyers were doing their job, (which is an open question) they prepared her for that before she entered the New York County State courtroom today.

NYAG knows about the Deutsche Bank loans that Donald Trump and his kids, including Ivanka, were trying to get for this hotel project. So playing braindead and acting like she has the world’s worst memory, especially under oath, would be a braindead play on her part. Especially when NYAG has her paperwork and what signed during that period for this project.

And apparently so far, at least from the reporting, she’s not playing braindead, or playing an Alzheimer’s patient under oath. She’s simply acknowledging the paperwork that NYAG has put in front of her, all the documents that she personally signed off. Which as Ben Meiselas said in his video, is devastating for her father and his Trump Organization.
