From CNN

“Fox News host Mark Levin has called out billionaires for not paying Donald Trump’s legal bills after the former president’s legal team said paying his $400 million New York civil fraud penalty would be “a practical impossibility.”

Writing on X, formerly Twitter, Levin suggested Republican billionaires lend Trump funds to appeal “the outrageous case.”

“Why are there no Republican multi-billionaires offering to lend President Trump the funds to file his appeal in the outrageous case in NY state?” he questioned. “Are none of them liquid enough to help or join with others to help? This is an outrage.”

From Newsweek

I guess my first reaction to this is that it’s so fun to make fun of Donald J. Trump, to take him out and just give him a verbal beatdown and then just invite others to join in and pile on, with this man having no ability whatsoever to even try to come up with an honest defense to defend himself. So we might as well jump in and join the party and get started.

It would be one thing if Donald Trump was a good man. Hell, it would be one thing if he was a decent man. But if you give out grades for being human beings and I don’t see how Donald Trump even gets a d.

Everyone who disagrees with DJT or tries to get in his way and hold him accountable or even prevent him from obtaining absolute power, he puts their physical life in jeopardy. Don’t believe me, just ask his own Vice President.

DJT’s own former personal attorney Michael Cohen who went to prison for lying for DJT and then he gets out, he finally starts speaking out against him, DJT calls him a traitor.

You agree with Donald Trump 100% of the time, or you are a traitor whose physical safety is put at risk. Not by DJT himself, who probably couldn’t physically defend himself, at least at this point. But one of his MAGA militants with cues from their cult leader, will do that for DJT.

And then the fact that DJT lies about practically everything and all the time. The man can’t even be honest about his own height and weight. If Donald J. Trump is 6’3 and weighs 215 pounds, then Santa Clause (whose not even a real person) is the King of Saudi Arabia. We are talking about a man who claimed at one point to be worth 6-10 billion dollars. Even with his his net worth and physical properties, he can’t cover his 500 million dollar New York State Bond.

So, no, I realize that Donald J. Trump is a huge and still tall (even though he’s not 6’3) target, not just for the political world, but in pop culture right now. But because who he is personally and how he treats other people, having no feeling whatsoever for anyone whose not Donald J. Trump, I would have an easier time feeling sorry for serial killers who turned their lives around in prison, then a man who cares about no one other than himself and can’t even be honest about his own height and weight, let alone net worth.

As far as Mark Levin: to pick up on what Michael Cohen said about him: Mark Levin should be one of the first people to try to help raise the money for Donald Trump. But he’s not going to do that, because when Mr. Levin is being honest, (even if it’s just in private and with himself) he knows that Trump is not worth the financial risk. And Mark Levin is not a billionaire anyway. Maybe in the 10s of millions of dollars. And besides, it’s Donald J. Trump who claims to be a billionaire. So why does he need other wealthy people to bail him out?

Karen F. Agnifilo: ‘PANICKED Donald Trump ATTACKS Witness in Federal Criminal Case’

Meidas Touch: PANICKED Donald Trump ATTACKS Witness in Federal Criminal CaseSource:Meidas Touch legal affairs analyst Karen F. Agnifilo talking about Defendant Don.

Source:The New Democrat

“Former Prosecutor and Legal AF host Karen Friedman Agnifilo reports on Trump’s escalating rhetoric over the weekend, as well as his new attacks on witnesses.”

From the Meidas Touch

“The federal judge overseeing the 2020 election interference case against Donald Trump in Washington imposed a narrow gag order on him on Monday, barring the Republican former president from making statements targeting prosecutors, possible witnesses and court staff.”

From the Associated Press

Oh, how I miss the days of those great political debates in Washington about how best to cut the Federal deficit, save Social Security and Medicare, tax reform, immigration policy, Welfare To Work, etc. You know, those old school policy debates that could put the average insomniac to sleep for weeks. Hell, those debates could put an insomniacs convention to sleep. And they only meet to have people to talk to, when everyone else is asleep. But those old debates, could keep the average current affairs junky such as myself, awake for years straight.

But, no, the Republican Party, is now the Republican Party In Name Only. A party that once talked about:

The need for law and order the rule of law,

The need for fiscal responsibility,

Talked about defeating authoritarianism

Talked about defending the U.S. Constitution.

But the so-called Republican Party today, nominates for the 3rd straight presidential election, a man:

Who incites violence, almost every time he gives a political speech

Claims to be above the law

Claims presidential immunity from all criminal prosecution, while claiming that the current President of the United States deserves to be locked up

Who self-proclaims to be the King of Debt, (one of the few things that he’s ever been right about)

Who takes the word of dictators, over our own national and intelligence communities

And literally claims the presidential oath of office, doesn’t apply to him.

If you are a longtime, loyal, Conservative Republican, well, you must be feeling pretty lonely today. Perhaps you are sending out all points bulletins for all the other Conservative Republicans, simply because you can’t find them and almost never hear them anymore.

But if you are still a longtime, loyal, Conservative Republican, someone who considers Calvin Coolidge, Robert Taft, Barry Goldwater, and Ronald Reagan to be political heroes for you, you must be thinking that you’ve been politically kidnapped or something and sent to a place where Republicans and Conservatives, no longer exist.

Harry Litman: ‘Donald Trump FINALLY ADMITS DEFEAT As Financial Crisis Looms’

Harry Litman: Donald Trump FINALLY ADMITS DEFEAT as financial crisis loomsSource:Harry Litman talking about Defendant Don.

Source:The New Democrat

“Trump’s attorneys said in a court filing today that Trump has been unable to secure the roughly $450 million bond in his New York civil fraud case. His attorneys said that securing this amount would be a “practical impossibility.” Trump must post an appeal bond in order to prevent AG James from seizing his assets on March 25th.”

From Harry Litman

“Former President Donald Trump has been unable to obtain an appeal bond to secure a $454 million civil judgment against him in a New York business fraud case, his attorneys said in a court filing Monday.

Lawyers for Trump and his co-defendants said it has been “impossible” for them to secure a complete appeal bond, which would effectively require “cash reserves approaching $1 billion,” which neither the former president nor his company has.

Trump’s team has approached, without success, around 30 surety companies through four separate brokers as he seeks an appeal bond, and they have spent “countless hours negotiating with one of the largest insurance companies in the world,” according to the filing with the Appellate Division of Manhattan Supreme Court.

Under New York court rules, Trump must post an appeal bond if he wants to avoid New York Attorney General Letitia James moving to collect on the fraud judgment in the state’s favor.

James has said she will seize Trump’s property if he is unable to pay the entire judgment or obtain an appeal bond.

Trump’s lawyers in their filing said that if the appellate division considers denying a stay of the judgment, it should schedule oral arguments on the issue.

And the attorneys asked that if the division declines to grant the stay, they be allowed to ask the Court of Appeals, the highest state court in New York, to pause the judgment without Trump having to obtain an appeal bond in the full amount.

Manhattan Supreme Court Judge Arthur Engoron in February ordered Trump and his co-defendants to pay a total of $464 million in damages and interest for violating a New York anti-fraud statute.

Engoron ruled in favor of James, who in a lawsuit had accused Trump, his two adult sons, the Trump Organization, and the company’s top executives of falsely inflating Trump’s asset values for years to boost his net worth and get financial perks.

Trump was ordered to pay the lion’s share of the judgment: $454 million. Post-judgment interest on Trump’s share of the damages continues to accrue at a rate of nearly $112,000 a day.

Trump, who has secured the Republican presidential nomination, in a deposition last year claimed to have “substantially in excess of $400 million in cash.”

Despite that, Monday’s nearly 5,000-page court filing by his lawyers detailed his inability to get a bond to secure the full judgment.

The filing includes an affidavit from Gary Giulietti, president of the Northeast division of the Lockton Companies, which he describes as the largest privately held insurance brokerage firm in the world.

Giulietti, who was hired to help the defendants to obtain a bond, in that statement wrote, “Despite scouring the market, we have been unsuccessful in our effort … for the simple reason that obtaining an appeal bond for $464 million is a practical impossibility under the circumstances presented.”

Only a handful of bond surety companies are approved by the Treasury Department to underwrite a bond that large, and many of those firms will only issue a single bond to a maximum of $100 million, Giulietti wrote.

He also said that none of those companies will accept non-liquid assets — such as real estate — as collateral.

“Simply put, a bond of this size is rarely, if ever, seen,” Giulietti wrote. “In the unusual circumstance that a bond of this size is issued, it is provided to the largest public companies in the world, not to individuals or privately held businesses.”

The Trump Organization is privately held.

Giulietti wrote that it would be unattainable for a private company to obtain a bond to secure the $464 million total judgment unless it had around $1 billion in cash or cash equivalents to offer as collateral, while still being able to satisfy its other business obligations.

“While it is my understanding that the Trump Organization is in a strong liquidity position, it does not have $1 billion in cash or cash equivalents,” he wrote.

Trump’s attorneys also noted in the filing that bond issuers often will demand collateral totaling 120% of the judgment, which equates to over $557 million.

Those issuers are also likely to demand a two-year advance on a 2% annual bond premium, which would require the defendants to pay more than $18 million upfront, the lawyers wrote.

The defendants had previously offered to post a $100 million bond to prevent James from collecting on the judgment while Trump appealed Engoron’s verdict.

An appellate division judge rejected that proposal but allowed the defendants to continue doing business in New York and lifted Engoron’s three-year ban on Trump seeking loans in New York. That order is temporarily in effect before a full appeals court panel hears the motion for a stay.

Trump’s attorney Alina Habba did not immediately respond to CNBC’s request for comment on the filing.

Trump earlier this month obtained a $91.6 million bond from insurance company Chubb to secure a civil defamation judgment against him in favor of writer E. Jean Carroll as he appeals that verdict.

Carroll had successfully sued Trump in federal court for defaming her after she accused him in 2019 of raping her in the mid-1990s in a Manhattan department store.”

From CNBC

This might not be a perfect analogy, (actually, I’m sure this is an imperfect analogy) but Donald Trump as a New York businessman, is like the shopaholic, who manages to buy everything they want on other people’s credit, as their credit cards are already taken from them and then finally gets caught and is now stuck with this huge bill to that he’s never intended to pay at all. He’s run out of credit:

DJT’s word is as useless as spitting on your burning house, after it just caught on fire, just to put out the fire.

Or, driving a car without tires.

Or, trying to fly a plane from the roof of the plane.

Or, making a sandwich without bread,

Drinking water with a fork.

Try to walk without legs and feet.

Donald Trump has essentially made his career and whatever money he still has left, off the backs and with other people’s money. To paraphrase the character Gordon Gecko from the movie Wall Street: “I create nothing. I sell nothing.” And now he’s finally been caught and he’s not only not a billionaire, but the only way he can the loans and the bond that he needs to to avoid losing his real estate empire, which at this point is just the properties that he still owes, is putting all that up for collateral.

The problem with DJT putting up collateral is, that he doesn’t want to do that because he’s Donald Trump. And because of that, Donald Trump believes that he’s entitled to live off of other people’s money and never ever be forced to pay for the consequences of his own decisions.

The problem with DJT’s above the law attitude, well, just one problem with that attitude, is that banks and insurance companies, are in the business to make money. Not to lose money. And before they can give people loans, regardless of the amount of money that the potential borrower needs, they have to be assured that the potential borrower can and will pay them back. Donald Trump can’t and won’t give them that assurance.

And as a consequence, Donald Trump will probably now, or in the next few months, will have to file for bankruptcy just to pay off the 500 million dollar judgements against him.

Farron Cousins: ‘Donald Trump Has No Idea How To Pay Fraud Trial Bond And He’s Almost Out Of Time’

Farron Balanced: Donald Trump Has No Idea How To Pay Fraud Trial Bond And He's Almost Out Of TimeSource:Farron Balanced with a look at Donald J. Trump’s lack of financial assets.

Source:The New Democrat

“Donald Trump is running it down to the wire on paying the massive bond for his New York fraud trial judgement, and even Alina Habba says she has no idea if he has the money to pay it. The clock is about to run out, and Trump doesn’t appear to be any closer to finding a way to pay the bond than he was the day the verdict was handed down. And this time he won’t be able to get his buddies to bail him out like he did in order to pay the bond for the defamation lawsuit verdict. Farron Cousins explains what’s happening.”

From Farron Balanced

Without the Fan Willis story that seems to be getting the covered the the rest of the world (except for The New Democrat) today, this really is a slow news Friday. So if some of this information sounds repetitive, that is why.

I think the basic point here is that Donald Trump won’t be able to get a 500 some odd bond from a New York bank. Or any wealthy billionaire in New York. Unless he puts up a helluva lot of collateral to cover that bond. And that means Trump Tower would just be a start of that collateral. Why? Because Donald Trump doesn’t have the money, even if include his business assets, to go along with his financial net worth.

And, because DJT is going to lose his appeal next year. The case against him is overwhelming. He might be able to get the penalty reduced. But a year from now, he’s going to be out of at least 500-600 million dollars that he doesn’t have and that includes the E. Jean Carroll case that he’s going to lose on appeal as well, for the same reasons as the New York State fraud judgement against him.

Christina Randall: The Story of Betty Broderick: Victim Or Villain?

Christina Randall: Cheating, a Bitter Divorce, & Murder: The Story of Betty Broderick _ Victim or Villain_!Source:Christina Randall with a look at he Elisabeth Broderick story.

Source:The New Democrat

” Elisabeth Anne Broderick is an American woman who murdered her ex-husband, Daniel T. Broderick III, and his second wife, Linda Broderick, on November 5, 1989. At a second trial that began on December 11, 1991, she was convicted of two counts of second-degree murder and later sentenced to 32-years-to-life in prison. The case received extensive media attention. Several books were written on the Broderick case, and a TV movie was televised in two parts. In 2020, an 8-episode miniseries was produced and aired about Broderick. An article about Broderick’s case in the Los Angeles Times Magazine led to the production of a television film called (Part 1) A Woman Scorned: The Betty Broderick Story, and (Part 2) Her Final Fury: Betty Broderick, The Last Chapter (1992), where Meredith Baxter portrayed Betty, Stephen Collins portrayed Dan, and Michelle Johnson portrayed Linda Kolkena. Baxter received an Emmy Award nomination for her portrayal of Broderick. The murder was also dramatized in the season 4 episode of Deadly Women, titled “Till Death Do Us Part.” Article Pieces from…

From Christina Randall

“Eight months after buying a Smith & Wesson revolver and seven months after Dan and Linda were married, Betty Broderick drove to Dan’s house at 1041 Cypress Avenue in the Marston Hills neighborhood near Balboa Park in San Diego.[2] Betty used a key she had taken from her daughter Kim to enter the house while the couple slept, whereupon she shot and killed them. The murders occurred at 5:30 a.m. on November 5, 1989—two days before Betty’s 42nd birthday. Two bullets hit Linda in the head and chest, killing her instantly; one bullet hit Dan in the chest as he apparently was reaching for the phone; one bullet hit the wall, and one bullet hit a nightstand. Dan was 17 days shy of his 45th birthday; Linda was 28.

Evidence was presented at her trial that Betty had removed a phone/answering machine from Dan Broderick’s bedroom so that he could not call for help. Medical evidence indicated that Dan had not died right away, and Betty claimed that she had spoken to him after she had shot him.

After contacting her daughter, Lee, and Lee’s boyfriend, Betty turned herself in to police, never denying that she had pulled the trigger. Betty’s explanation at both trials was that she never planned to kill Dan and Linda and that her crime was not premeditated. Her account of the murders at her second trial was that she was startled by Kolkena screaming “Call the police!” and immediately fired the gun.

Linda and Dan Broderick are listed as having been buried together, at Greenwood Memorial Park in San Diego.”

From Wikipedia

The old expression two things can be right at the same time comes into play here. A woman can be both beautiful and adorable (take Christina Randall, just to use as example) at the same time. She can be gorgeous and intelligent. She can be a homemaker and a career woman. Someone (man or woman) can be a victim like in this case of her husband being a workaholic, as well as his adultery. But then she can take it too far and not just intentionally murder her cheating husband, but murder his wife, while they’re asleep in bed. Which is what Betty Broderick did to her husband Dan and his new wife Linda.

If you watch the literal beginning of Christina Randall’s video here, you see a clip of Betty Broderick testifying for herself at her trial and she literally says: “Things just started coming down on me. And I couldn’t stand it for another minute.”

I’m not a police detective, not a prosecutor, not a psychiatrist, but that sounds more like a suicide note, than justification for breaking into someone else’s home, in the middle of the night, go upstairs in Dan and Linda’s bedroom, while they’re sleeping and shoot them in bed, with her own gun until they’re both dead.

This is not just a clear case of murder one, but a double homicide here. She planned the murders of two people and then murdered them all. by herself. It’s one thing she comes home or goes to his office and she finds her husband having sex with another woman. And then she freaks out and goes crazy with whatever is around her and uses that to murder both Dan and Linda. That would be a clear case of murder 2. And she’s probably out of prison right now. But she planned the murders of two innocent people, who represented no threat whatsoever to her physical well-being, her life, or anyone whose around her.

If America was some theocracy or this case happened down in Mississippi or some other Bible Belt state and adultery was illegal, Dan Broderick is not just guilty here, but he’s also guilty and of being a bad husband to her wife. And not talking financially or physically, but emotionally. But America is not Iran or Saudi Arabia and adultery is not illegal anywhere in America. (As far as I know) And besides, this happened in California, where adultery and free love, are actually promoted, or at least encouraged. At least in hippie San Francisco, or Berkeley, or Los Angeles. (Ha, ha)

Jesse Dollemore: ‘CONFUSED TRUMP Rambles About Hillary Clinton Using LITERAL ACID On Hard Drives!!!’

Jesse Dollemore_ CONFUSED TRUMP Rambles About Hillary Clinton Using LITERAL ACID on Hard Drives!!!Source:Jesse Dollemore talking about MAGA King Donald Trump.

Source:The New Democrat

“Jesse talks about an insane interview conducted by Newsmax’s Greg Kelly with Donald Trump. During the conversation, Greg Kelly does his best to help Trump appear normal and likeable, but Trump insists on being impossible!”

From Jesse Dollemore

“With the Republican presidential primary behind him, former President Donald Trump said he vows to take a tough fight to his critics, political persecutors, and justice weaponizers in the Biden administration and the Democratic Party.

“I will always be nice; I will always be respectful; but when they hit you, you have to hit them back, and then people will say, Oh gee, Trump isn’t a nice guy, because he hit back hard,” Trump told “Greg Kelly Reports” in an exclusive sit-down Wednesday with Newsmax.

“They say, Trump isn’t a nice person, but they do like my policy.”

From Newsmax

I’m not going to say I feel sorry for Newsmax/MAGA host Greg Kelly. Actually, Newsmax and MAGA are one-in-the-same. I don’t feel sorry for Greg Kelly, because unless he was kidnapped and forced to do this interview with Donald Trump, (perhaps by some deep state Democrats and Republicans, who are simply out to make Donald Trump look bad. According to MAGA) he didn’t have to do this interview.

But I guess my impressions of the Kelly-Trump interview are:

For one, I’m glad it was Greg Kelly and not me. Because watching this interview, it looks like a horrible comedy act. Except that it’s so funny because of how bad it is. Like the guy with a million corny jokes, but you are always laughing at them because of how bad they are: “What kind of tree barks? Dogwood!!!”

But the Greg Kelly-Donald Trump interview looks like a bad comedy act because Greg Kelly, like any responsible MAGA journalist or political operative (if there are such things) he was simply trying to make Donald J. Trump look like a man and a human being.

And how does Mr. Trump respond to that favor and gesture by Mr. Kelly? He goes into some high on acid (pun intended) conspiracy theory about acid being responsible for Donald Trump illegally grabbing the classified documents that he stole, when he was leaving The White House in 2021 and taking them down to Mar-A-Lago. With Greg Kelly I guess sitting there, perhaps trying not to laugh at the former President’s face, as he was speaking to him.

This whole attempt at an interview, just goes to show you that even MAGA is worried about Donald Trump. Probably not him personally, because he’s simply just the leader of their political cult. But politically, even they believe that Mr. Trump is in a helluva lot of trouble, not just legally with all the evidence that’s coming out against him right now, but more in the spring and summer, as well as criminal as multiple criminal, felony convictions in New York. And as Jesse Dollemore said so himself: MAGA is trying to make this man seem likable to more voters.

Michael Smerconish: Aaron Rodgers: Sandy Hook & Other MAGA Conspiracy Theories

Michael Smerconish: "They're All Actors"Source:Michael Smerconish– just to correct the record: Aaron Rodgers has never actually played an NFL game for the New York Jets. He broke his foot during the preseason last year. So maybe he should trade his NY Jets cap, for a MAGA hat. And maybe wear a t-shirt that has a picture of Alex Jones or Donald Trump screaming at someone. Because that’s who he & RFK JR. represent.

Aaron Rodgers: “They’re All Actors”

From Michael Smerconish

“Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has confirmed that among his potential vice-presidential prospects is New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who in private conversations shared deranged conspiracy theories about the 2012 Sandy Hook school shooting not being real.

CNN knows of two people with whom Rodgers has enthusiastically shared these stories, including with Pamela Brown, one of the journalists writing this piece.

Brown was covering the Kentucky Derby for CNN in 2013 when she was introduced to Rodgers, then with the Green Bay Packers, at a post-Derby party. Hearing that she was a journalist with CNN, Rodgers immediately began attacking the news media for covering up important stories. Rodgers brought up the tragic killing of 20 children and 6 adults by a gunman at Sandy Hook Elementary School, claiming it was actually a government inside job and the media was intentionally ignoring it.

When Brown questioned him on the evidence to show this very real shooting was staged, Rodgers began sharing various theories that have been disproven numerous times. Such conspiracy theories were also later at the center of lawsuits brought by victims’ families when they sued conspiracy theorist Alex Jones on the matter.

Jones baselessly repeating lies that the 2012 mass shooting was staged, and that the families and first responders were “crisis actors,” spawned multiple lawsuits and a trial was held in 2022 over lawsuits that were filed in Connecticut.

Family members throughout that trial described in poignant terms how the lies had prompted unrelenting harassment against them and compounded the emotional agony of losing their loved ones.

Brown recalls Rodgers asking her if she thought it was off that there were men in black in the woods by the school, falsely claiming those men were actually government operatives. Brown found the encounter disturbing.

CNN has spoken to another person with a similar story. This person, to whom CNN has granted anonymity so as to avoid harassment, recalled that several years ago, Rodgers claimed, “Sandy Hook never happened…All those children never existed. They were all actors.”

When asked about the grieving parents, the source recalled Rodgers saying, “They’re all making it up. They’re all actors.”

Rodgers went on to delve into some of the darker caverns of the false conspiracy theory. This person found the encounter disturbing.

On Thursday, Rodgers did not deny the comments he made to Brown or the other source, but said on X, “As I’m on the record saying in the past, what happened in Sandy Hook was an absolute tragedy. I am not and have never been of the opinion that the events did not take place. Again, I hope that we learn from this and other tragedies to identify the signs that will allow us to prevent unnecessary loss of life. My thoughts and prayers continue to remain with the families affected along with the entire Sandy Hook community.”

From CNN

From what I wrote about Robert F. Kennedy JR. for President last week:

“As an at best Independent Democrat at this point, whose not in love with the Democratic Party politically, or really anything else, for that matter, I would love to see Robert F. Kennedy JR. run for President as a Libertarian. Why? Because it would just confirm what I, what this blog, and what a lot of other Democrats believe about RFK JR. that he’s simply a MAGA man, who at the very least doesn’t want Joe Biden to be reelected and perhaps even wants Donald Trump back in The White House, where all their MAGA conspiracy theories and avenues to financially profit for them, would open up.

This whole speculation of RFK JR. running for President in the Libertarian Party, is why I believe he’s a bigger threat to Donald Trump than President Biden. But he can’t run interference for DJT, unless he at the very least is on all the swing state ballots in November.”

From The New Democrat

When I first saw this story, my first reaction is how the hell did Aaron Rodgers ever even get into California Berkeley, let alone graduate from there. I know Cal Berkeley is home to radicals, along with the rest of the City of Berkeley, and the entire San Francisco area for that matter. But those folks are left-wing, hippie radicals, who in some cases still think it’s 1968 or 69, and they’re still trying to take down the man. Because they’re so high, they’re simply lost in space and perhaps not just mentally.

What Aaron Rodgers and Robert Kennedy JR. represent, are MAGA radicals. People who think that every school shooting, is an inside job by the deep state or something. Or as Mr. Rodgers put it: “All those kids who died we’re just acting.” He would be perfect for RFK JR. for the simple fact that they think alike. (And calling that thinking is very generous) As well as having no qualifications to even serve as a baggage handler for the Vice President of the United States, let alone actually being Vice President of the United States.

I already made my point about RFK JR., but he represents the Donald Trump voters who are still in love with Donald Trump, but simply believe that Donald Trump can’t get elected again because he”ll either lose, or Democrats will still steal the election. MAGA voters are not what you would call Ivy League graduates. To them, the Ivy League is just a football division or something. But these voters want an alternative to Donald Trump, because they don’t think Trump will beat Joe Biden in November.

The Bulwark: Jonathan Last, Sarah Longwell & Tim Miller: ‘RNC BLOODBATH After Trump Takeover! Robert Hur Testifies! Nancy Mace’s VP Audition!’

The Bulwark: RNC BLOODBATH After Trump Takeover! Robert Hur Testifies! Nancy Mace's VP Audition! _ The Next LevelSource:The Bulwark talking about a whole bunch of political stuff. (To keep it clean)

Source:The New Democrat

“Lara Trump’s takeover of the RNC has led to massive lay offs and looks to be steering the political organization towards paying off Trump’s legal bills. Essentially, get ready for the RNC to be just another limb of the Trump campaign.

Plus, Robert Hur testifies before Congress, defending his controversial report where he made a low assessment of President Biden’s mental faculties. And Rep. Nancy Mace is feuding with George Stephanopoulos after being questioned about supporting Trump after he was found liable of sexual abuse.”

From The Bulwark

As my colleague Fred Schneider wrote about Robert Hur’s report back in February:

“First of all, I’m not going to play the MAGA game of what about and say something like: :”Oh yeah! What about all the time Donald Trump made a fool of himself and all the negative reports about him? How come Michael Smerconish is not talking about that?”

Smerconish did say that the best case and the case where Donald Trump has no defense for himself, is the classified documents case and he said that on his show today. But, we only have Robert Hur’s word on this and we only have his report.

Robert Hur who just happens to be a career Republican lawyer, including someone who just recently worked in President Donald Trump’s Justice Department. Release the transcripts of the interviews that Mr. Hur did of President Biden and I’ll give them more credibility. Till then, we just have a the word of a career Republican lawyer, going after a Democratic President.”

From The New Democrat

As my colleague Fred Schneider wrote about the State of the Union, featuring both President Biden and Senator Katie Britt on Friday.

“Now having said on that, either Senator Britt got some really, horrible advice, but she took it anyway, or she’s simply not ready for prime time. Donald Trump and the rest of the MAGA wing of what’s left of the Republican Party, is getting buried by Democrats when it comes to female voters. As much as MAGA wants people to think it’s still the 1950s, or they want to take us back there, the average American woman today works out of the home.

So what does Senator Britt do here? She gives her speech not just from her Alabama home, but from her kitchen. And as Olivia Troye said, who worked for Vice President Mike Pence in the Trump White House, the kitchen: “Representing exactly where many of these men in the GOP think all women belong…

As far as the performance itself: was I watching CNN, or Bravo TV? Perhaps a block of not just soap operas and reality TV shows, but that they were showing the tryouts for these shows and giving people and idea of what their cast members go through before they pick their cast.

This speech didn’t even look like good acting on Senator Britt’s part. More like a high school sophomore whose never even being in a community play, let alone a high school play, trying out for the very first time in a high school play. But instead of reading from a script on a piece of paper, she’s reading from a teleprompter. The speech just didn’t look real.”

From The New Democrat

As my colleague Fred Schneider wrote yesterday:

“As far as President Joe Biden’s state of the union speech: if you were to see a preview of the speech, you might think that President Biden would’ve been rewarded and given credit for just showing up to the right room where the speech was given, or even getting to the right building, not tripping over his own feet as we walked through the House chamber and up to the Speaker’s podium. I mean, if you watched the mainstream media pre-coverage of this speech, you might think that Joe Biden was a walking comatose patient, who was ready to have a heart attack or something.”

From The New Democrat

As far as the Robert Hur report: I think it’s interesting that House Republicans wait until after President Biden delivers his knockout State of the Union (at least according to the polls) before they decide to bring him to the House to testify. To me, that’s like calling your best play of the game and trying to run that play, after you just lost the Super Bowl. (To use a football analogy) I don’t see the political reasoning there. I’m not sure even Superman (not that I believe in Superman) could see the political reasoning here. And he’s supposed to have supervision. The fact that neither House Democrats or House Republicans were happy with Mr. Hur’s testimony, tells me that his performance (which is probably what it was) was a wash and not memorable.

As far as the Republican National Committee “bloodbath”: I never watched Donald Trump’s Apprentice show, for the simple reason like a lot of other Americans, I simply had better and more important things to do with my time 20 years ago. But I imagine what happened at the RNC in Washington yesterday, was an Apprentice episode, where Donald Trump comes in at the end and tells everybody or somebody, that: “you’re fired!”

The Bulwark already covered this. But I would just add that the Republican National Committee, at one point really was the Grand Ole Party. It was the brain center of what was once the greatest center-right party, at least, in the whole world. It was a place where The Bulwark’s Tim Miller used to work. And now it’s just one of Donald Trump’s private enterprises (which means it’s doomed to go bankrupt) and now just in the business to finance Donald Trump’s lifestyle and legal bills.

And while the RNC is not just DJT’s personal and legal slush fund, Republicans across the country who are in tough races in the House, Senate, but governor’s races as well, are in real jeopardy of losing, simply because they’ll be denied the financial resources that would normally come from the RNC, to help finance their political campaigns.

CNN: Anderson Cooper 360: ‘Maggie Haberman Previews What To Expect From Donald Trump’s Next Trials’

CNN_ Anderson Cooper 360_ Maggie Haberman Previews What To Expect From Donald Trump’s Next Trials - The New DemocratSource:CNN political analyst & New York Times national political reporter/Donald Trump whisperer Maggie Haberman.

“New York Times reporter and CNN senior political analyst Maggie Haberman discusses how former President Donald Trump plans to woo voters away from President Biden in the 2024 presidential race. CNN’s Gary Tuchman follows and speaks to undecided voters in the swing state of Georgia about which candidates they support going into the 2024 presidential election.”

From CNN

I guess I agree with everything that Maggie Haberman said here. I would just add a couple of things:

If, Donald Trump gets to trial. As my colleague Kire Schneider pointed out on Monday and Tuesday on The New Democrat:

“The Manhattan, New York case against Donald Trump, is the best case in the sense, if you are someone who believes in law and order in America, as well as opposing Donald Trump, because it’s the easiest. This is a municipal case, meaning there’s no Federal jurisdiction here (unless the Supreme Court claims absolute power) and what he’s being charged with in Manhattan, happened 3 months before he ever became any sort of Federal official whatsoever, let alone President of the United States. As well as all the evidence in this case that again happened before he was even elected President in 2016.

So hopefully Judge Juan Merchan will take this appeal quickly and rule against it quickly, as well as denying any stay that the Trump team will probably ask for, why they try to appeal it. And the Supreme Court will stay the hell out of a municipal case.”

From The New Democrat

“Not sure when Michael Popok recorded this video. But if he shot it today, he’s the behind the ball on this. Because before Donald Trump can lose a trial, just like before anyone else can lose a trial, you have to get to trial first. Just before you have a glass of water, there has to be water in your glass first. Otherwise you are just trying to drink from an empty glass, perhaps hoping for a last drop or something. And as I wrote yesterday about this case…

From The New Democrat

My other point here is about Donald Trump using his Manhattan trial (if there ever is a Manhattan trial and conviction before the election) has to do with the old legal advice that defendants should never speak publicly about their ongoing court case, without that advice from their lawyer. Meaning they shouldn’t speak to the public about their ongoing court case, without their lawyer agreeing that is even a good idea. Why? Because anything that a defendant says publicly about their own court case, can come back and be used against them in their case by the prosecution.

If you are familiar with Donald Trump, you know that he can sound like an inmate in jail, waiting on his trial, whose so proud of his crime or crimes, that he either doesn’t believe he should even be charged at all, or he simply doesn’t care what happens to him as a result. So as a result, this jail inmate, blabbers to other inmates about the crimes he’s committed, before he’s actually convicted of anything. He gives away his store, before there’s any offer to even buy his store. Imagine jail inmate whose also a nihilist. He simply doesn’t care what happens to him.

Donald Trump has a bad habit for himself, but great for the public, at incriminating himself, simply because he lacks all self-discipline and believes he’s above the law. So Donald Trump speaking in public about his own criminal trial, with all that evidence and all those witnesses, who either used to work for him, or had an affair with him, should be welcome news to the Manhattan District Attorney and perhaps the Biden White House as well.

Michael Popok: ‘Donald Trump BRACES For Losing in Criminal Trial’

Meidas Touch: Donald Trump BRACES for Losing in Criminal TrialSource:Meidas Touch– left to right: Manhattan, New York Judge Juan Merchan & Defendant Don.

“Trump is 0-7 in CIVIL AND CRIMINAL cases against him in the US and internationally, with 30 jurors in 3 cases ruling UNANIMOUSLY against him, resulting in $600 million in judgments; 17 FELONY TAX FRAUD CONVICTIONS, and tens of millions of dollars in fines and penalties. Michael Popok explains how this “elephant in the room” will be Trump’s undoing when he picks his FOURTH jury of 12 at the end of this month.”

From the Meidas Touch

Not sure when Michael Popok recorded this video. And as I wrote yesterday about this case:

From The New Democrat

So yeah, (to sort of sound like a valley girl) if Donald Trump even gets to trial, of course he’ll lose. This trial would be in Manhattan, New York, which along with Washington (a town I’m very familiar with) is the national capital of wealthy, well-educated, Liberal Democrats. (Liberal Democrats meaning people who believe in liberal democracy)

Along with all the evidence:

Like freakin Donald Trump’s own words,

The phone calls he had with his personal lawyer at the time, Michael Cohen

All the paperwork, like his own bank accounts

The woman he had the affair with back in 2006, Stormy Daniels. And perhaps also Karen McDougal, another woman had an affair with at about the same time.

As far as Alina Habba: (I have to take a moment to stop laughing) if you follow The New Democrat, you know exactly how we feel about her. But if you are a very wealthy man, or in Donald Trump’s case you think, or want to be a very wealthy man, but you are somewhat financially suicidal and perhaps have considered taking a suitcase with a lot of your money and driving it to the middle of a bridge and dumping your money in the water, I have a better suggestion for you. Hire Alina Habba as your lawyer.

Maybe Alina won’t bankrupt you overnight. Perhaps not even Alina Habba is that incompetent, but over the next few years, you’ll not only have to pay her, but she’ll lose every case for that you are involved in. I mean if you ever get picked up for speeding and decide to take your case to court, don’t pick her as your lawyer. Because you’ll end up doing a year in county jail for speeding. Instead of paying just a 100 dollar fine, had you just represented yourself.

From what I said about Alina Habba back in November:

“Alina Habba is not really a trial lawyer. She can barely afford to do whatever she does as a lawyer right now. She’s more of a public relations lawyer, if anything at all, who makes her living trying her client’s cases on TV and on social media. But she’s officially Donald Trump’s civil lawyer right now because she’s about the best of what’s left to try to defend him, because of his own financial situation and all the evidence that’s against him right now, in multiple cases.

Perhaps one of the reasons right now that Alina Habba owes millions of dollars, is because her own client is not paying her. But she’s trying to work for him anyway, perhaps banking on the fact that defending a former President of the United States, would lead to clients who can and would pay her very well for her legal advice and actions in the future. But that career strategy is obviously not working out for her right now.”
