CNN: Stephen Collison: ‘How Donald Trump’s Greatest Policy Triumph Could Derail His 2024 Campaign’

CNN: Stephen Collison: How Donald Trump’s greatest policy triumph could derail his bid to win back the White House _ CNN PoliticsSource:CNN talking about former POTUS Donald J. Trump.

“One-term presidents who fail to win a second term are usually doomed by their failures. So it would be ironic if Donald Trump’s bid is derailed by what is likely to be his most enduring policy achievement.

The former president succeeded in constructing an unassailable conservative majority on the Supreme Court, which overturned the constitutional right to an abortion two years ago and set off an extraordinary cascade of consequences that now threatens his 2024 campaign to win a non-consecutive second term.

Trump is yet to come up with a coherent policy on abortion as conservative states enthusiastically try to dismantle those rights. His equivocating shows that he knows restrictive abortion policies are deeply unpopular and could weaken his already fragile appeal to suburban and women voters. But he can’t quite disown his big win in becoming the Republican president who sent Roe v. Wade crashing down.

The ex-president’s dilemma is back in the spotlight after Florida’s Supreme Court on Monday delivered a ruling that will mean that a six-week abortion ban – one of the most restrictive in the nation – will come into force next month. Trump originally blasted the six-week cut-off as a “terrible mistake” when he saw a chance to damage then-primary rival Gov. Ron DeSantis, who signed the law. But on Tuesday, Trump declined to answer questions on the matter, promising instead to make a “statement” next week.

His punt doesn’t look like a sustainable position through November’s election.

Can the Biden campaign pin Trump down?
The Florida Supreme Court issued a separate ruling on Monday that could energize Democrats’ efforts to hold Trump to account on abortion. By clearing for this November’s ballot a proposed state constitutional amendment that would protect the right to the procedure, the court ensured that abortion will be at the center of this fall’s election in Trump’s home state.

The presumptive GOP nominee’s campaign on Tuesday tried to have it both ways, saying Trump “supports preserving life but has made clear that he supports states’ rights.” But his waffling on abortion hints at the risk it poses to him.

Last month, the ex-president made clear he was moving toward embracing a federal ban on the procedure at 15 weeks. “The number of weeks now, people are agreeing on 15, and I’m thinking in terms of that, and it’ll come out to something that’s very reasonable,” he said.

He seems to be trying to appease hardline conservatives in his party while also hoping to avoid alienating more moderate and independent voters who will be critical to deciding the election. But if Trump formally embraces a 15-week ban, President Joe Biden – who is vowing to enshrine abortion rights into law – would argue that Trump seeks national prohibitions on the procedure.

There’s every chance Trump might back away from even this level of specificity. His reticence shone through an interview on NBC’s “Meet the Press” in September, well before he’d secured the GOP nomination. “What’s going to happen is you’re going to come up with a number of weeks or months,” Trump said. “You’re going to come up with a number that’s going to make people happy,” he added, conjuring a scenario that blithely ignored Americans’ deeply felt, and often irreconcilable, positions on the issue.

The ex-president has long been wary of taking a definitive stand against abortion rights. He has, for instance, warned that Republicans risk alienating potential voters with tough anti-abortion laws that lack exceptions for rape, incest or risks to the mother’s health.

This posturing may be a relic of his more liberal past as well as a sign of political calculation. He’s gotten away with it in the GOP largely because of his honored promise to evangelicals to build a conservative court majority hostile to abortion. If he can maintain a fuzzy position for the rest of the general election campaign, the ex-president may be able to ride out the controversy – even as Republicans lower down the ballot may suffer on Election Day.

But the Biden campaign is trying to pin the ex-president down, seeking to revive an issue that drives Democratic voters to the polls. It laid into Trump with relish on abortion on Tuesday, releasing a new ad that will run in swing states. It begins with video of the presumptive Republican nominee saying: “For 54 years, they were trying to get Roe v. Wade terminated, and I did it, and I’m proud to have done it.”

How Democrats are finding an opening in a generational liberal failure
Democrats are confronting their own sense of irony. While Trump’s great success on the Supreme Court has created a big general election headache for him, liberals are now viewing one of the greatest policy failures of their movement – the loss of federal abortion rights – as a political opportunity that could send Biden back to the Oval Office.

The overturning of Roe v. Wade has unleashed policy mayhem across the country. Some Republican-led legislatures have passed tough abortion bans, while more moderate states have moved to safeguard reproductive rights. State-level ballot initiatives have sought to let the voters decide. Even in red states like Kansas and Ohio, voters have sided with the abortion-rights side of those ballot questions. But some Republicans are infringing the spirit of the Supreme Court ruling – which sent the issue back to individual states – by pushing for a national ban.

The loss of Roe has also set off fierce controversies over related issues. It paved the way for lower court decisions that have, for instance, paused some IVF treatments in Alabama and set off a battle over the availability of abortion pills nationwide that reached the Supreme Court. There are real human consequences for the patchwork of policies across the country; many women now have no access to abortion or must travel hundreds of miles to out-of-state clinics. The Florida ban effectively means there is no abortion provision at all across the southeast United States.

In a way, this nationwide chaos is symptomatic of Trumpism itself – a political creed characterized mostly by a willingness to overturn precedents, assumptions, behavior and rights that have long been taken for granted, without putting anything concrete in their place. The confusion over abortion policy might be a preview, therefore, for huge upheaval that could lie in store in a second Trump term that figures to be even more disruptive than his first for the federal bureaucracy, the legal system and other parts of the political system.

But first, Trump has to win back the White House. And Democrats believe they have an issue, in abortion rights, that could thwart him – despite Biden’s own unpopularity. “As we’ve seen in election after election, protecting abortion rights is mobilizing a diverse and growing segment of voters to help buoy Democrats up and down the ballot,” Biden’s campaign manager Julie Chavez Rodriguez wrote in a memo this week.

Democratic happy talk on Florida
The prospect of abortion rights on the ballot this fall led to some optimistic talk among Democrats Tuesday that the elusive prize of Florida – once a perennial swing state, but one that Trump won in the last two elections – could be back in play in November.

Democrats are delighted since they have had considerable success in using ballot initiatives to protect abortion rights or reject further restrictions. They managed to turn the trick for example in Michigan, Montana, California and even conservative Kentucky in the midterm elections. In some places, the potency of the abortion issue ensured an invigorated Democratic turnout in statewide races. Even in reliably Republican Ohio, pro-abortion rights campaigners pulled off a remarkable win in 2023 as voters approved a measure that enshrined abortion rights in the state constitution.

Claims that Democrats can win Florida, which has trended toward Republicans, should be taken with a large pinch of salt at this stage. Trump carried the state by 1 point in 2016 and grew his margin to three points four years later. And DeSantis won a thumping reelection victory there in 2022. There’s no guarantee moreover that a voter who wants to preserve abortion rights will also choose Biden on the presidential ballot. Some Republicans will be needed to pass the measure since state constitutional amendments require a 60% threshold in Florida. And this is one state where Trump’s lack of specificity on the issue may help him.

Still, even if the early Democratic excitement doesn’t translate to the Sunshine State becoming more competitive this fall, it could force the ex-president to spend some of his limited campaign resources there, instead of using them to attack Biden in closely contested swing states.

There are also signs the ballot measure has injected new hope into the Democratic bid to unseat Florida Republican Sen. Rick Scott, who has said that if he were still governor, he would sign the six-week bill.

Scott could be far more vulnerable that Trump statewide. The Republican defeated Democratic Sen. Bill Nelson by less than half a point in 2018, and he’s never run in a presidential year. The campaign of the Democratic front-runner to take him on, former Rep. Debbie Mucarsel-Powell, called the Florida Supreme Court decisions a “game changer.” And she sent out multiple fundraising emails hailing the ballot initiative.

“This is a HUGE victory in the fight to defend reproductive freedom — but it’s just the beginning. Now, we need to get this initiative across the finish line, defeat Rick Scott at the ballot box, and codify abortion rights,” she said in one of the emails.”

CNN: How Donald Trump’s Greatest Policy Triumph Could Derail His 2024 CampaignSource:CNN talking about former POTUS Donald J. Trump.

From CNN

If you look at how Joe Biden won the presidency in 2020: he did that with a record Democratic turnout, including left-wing Democrats, the Bernie Sanders Democratic Socialists, (not Progressives) as well as African-American and Latino-American turnout in the Southwest. Which is how he won Colorado, Arizona, and Nevada.

As well as perhaps as much as 1-10 Republicans voting for him instead of Donald Trump, again in the Southwest, but Georgia, as well as the rustbelt stares that he had to win as well.

As well as dominating the cities and suburbs, and blue-collar Democrats coming back for him in Pennsylvania and Michigan. And not being Donald Trump can always help the Democrat in a general election, especially in swing states.

But go up 3-1/2 years laters and now Joe Biden is longer former Vice President Biden, he’s President Biden:

Joe Biden is running for President in an election year with an approval rating in the high 30s.

Inflation because of the COVID aftermath and all the government borrowing to deal with COVID from 2020 and 21, is still a major issue, even though 3% is half of what it was in 2022.

The high interest rates, that were necessary to deal with the inflation, make it harder for people to buy homes, cars, start businesses, etc.

These are the main reasons why the President has been stuck in the 30s at least since the summer of 2021, after the failed attempt to withdraw from Afghanistan.

I understand Stephen Collison’s point about abortion being a key issue for Democrats in 2024 and how that’s been driving Democratic turnout, probably since 2018 after Brett Kavanaugh was appointed by then President Trump to the Supreme Court and not just with Roe V. Wade being overturned in 2022.

But if you look at Hillary Clinton’s failed presidential campaign in 2016: she basically ran for President to be the 1st female President of the United States and that she wasn’t Donald Trump. That was most of her presidential campaign. She didn’t even bother to campaign in the states that she had to have, at least not until late in that campaign. Which is how she lost Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin, and didn’t even come close in Georgia and Arizona, states that she played in thinking that she already had the states that he had to have.

My point here, is there isn’t 1 issue that’s going to get Joe Biden reelected President of the United States. If he does win in November, abortion will be just one of those issues. He has to have a united Democratic Party behind him and voting for him again. He has to lock down all those groups in the Democratic Party, before he can think about playing in Florida, Ohio, Texas, and North Carolina again. And abortion and not being Donald J. Trump is not enough to get him to the finish line and get the Democratic Party behind in huge numbers again.

Jesse Dollemore: Fox News Anchor Jesse Watters Says That Donald Trump’s Voters Will Buy Anything From Him

Jesse Dollemore_ Fox News Doofus Jesse Watters EXPOSES TRUMP VOTERS as Rubes WHO WILL BUY ANYTHING FROM HIM!!!Source:Jesse Dollemore talking about one of Fox News’s DJT propagandists Jesse Watters.

Source:The New Democrat

“Jesse talks about a wild rant from Fox News’s Jesse Watters where he inadvertently told the truth about Donald Trump voters and outed them as gullible rubes who will buy anything that Donald Trump sells them.”

From Jesse Dollemore

“Jesse Watters: This is why the left is upset over Trump pitching Bibles
Fox News host Jesse Watters reacts to Democrats’ criticism of the presumptive GOP presidential nominee’s efforts to ‘make America pray again’ on ‘Jesse Watters Primetime.”

From FOX News

Jesse Watters: “Trump’s bond is so strong with his voters, that they’ll buy anything that he tries to sell.”

I’ve never been in a lawyer in my life, let alone a prosecuting attorney, but hearing what Fox News host Jesse Watters said about Donald Trump’s voters, must be like hearing the defendant take the stand and saying something like: “She had to be taken out. Otherwise she would’ve destroyed my life and career.” It’s not what you would call a smoking gun, (you don’t have to be a lawyer to know that) but it’s in the ballpark.

Donald Trump could sell the Communist Manifesto and argue that the Communist vision of government is what America needs. That business venture would also go bankrupt, not because it’s a Communist Manifesto so much, (even though communism is still very unpopular in America) but because this is one of DJT’s business ventures. And the public knows this man would literally try to sell anything to make money. But at least his base would buy the DJT Communist Manifestos.

I, mean Donald Trump would’ve tried to sell tickets to his parents funerals 30 plus years ago and if he was the same DJT that was running for President in the 1980s and 90s, as he is today, MAGA would buy those tickets. But Jesse Watters wouldn’t, because privately he’s a genius compared to the profiteering propagandist that he plays (plays being the key word) on the Fox News Channel every night, for Donald J. Trump. But he would tell his viewers that he bought 100 tickets or whatever to the Trump funerals. I think Donald Trump is a ratings and business venture for him. Whether he actually believes anything that he says about the man, is a better question.

Michael Smerconish: Robert F. Kennedy JR. – Erin Burnett Interview

Michael Smerconish: Who's The Biggest Threat_ Joe Biden, Donald Trump #rfkjr #2024electionsSource:Michael Smerconish talking about President Joe Biden & the 2 presidential candidates who are running to defeat him.

“Who’s The Biggest Threat? Biden Trump RFKJR 2024 elections”

From Michael Smerconish

“Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. argued Monday that President Joe Biden is a greater threat to democracy than former President Donald Trump.

His argument made on CNN’s “Erin Burnett OutFront” centered around being blocked on social media platforms during the Biden administration, which he labeled as an effort to “censor political speech” and undermine the First Amendment.

“I can make the argument that President Biden is the much worse threat to democracy, and the reason for that is President Biden is the first candidate in history – the first president in history that has used the federal agencies to censor political speech, so to censor his opponent,” he said.

Kennedy pointed to his removal from social media platforms, which he attributes to pressure from the Biden administration, as evidence of the president’s efforts to censor political speech.

Kennedy’s Instagram account was suspended in 2021 “for repeatedly sharing debunked claims about the coronavirus or vaccines” but was reinstated last year shortly after he announced his presidential campaign. Meta, Instagram’s parent company, cited his White House bid as the reason for restoring Kennedy’s account in a statement…

From CNN

I talked about this last month and I still believe this:

“As an at best Independent Democrat at this point, whose not in love with the Democratic Party politically, or really anything else, for that matter, I would love to see Robert F. Kennedy JR. run for President as a Libertarian. Why? Because it would just confirm what I, what this blog, and what a lot of other Democrats believe about RFK JR. that he’s simply a MAGA man, who at the very least doesn’t want Joe Biden to be reelected and perhaps even wants Donald Trump back in The White House, where all their MAGA conspiracy theories and avenues to financially profit for them, would open up.”

From The New Democrat

First of all, every time I hear Robert F. Kennedy JR. speaking about anything, my ears hurt. And it’s not just because he’s basically a professional conspiracy theorist at this point late in his life, after being a very successful environmental lawyer for most of his career before that and an excellent spokesman for the environment in this country.

But it’s not just that and I don’t want to sound like I’m making fun of the man, especially when I already feel sorry for him and his family is embarrassed by him, but he always sounds like he’s got a sore throat, or he’s one of those U.S. senators whose just coming off a 24 hour straight filibuster, with no water, to block an appropriations bill or something. I’m not sure how ever his audience understands him. He’s very tough on the ears from a physical perspective and not just what he has to say, which he generally never even tries to back up, let alone able to.

As far as RFK JR. telling CNN anchor Erin Burnett, who I’m a fan of and think she does a great job and is an excellent interviewer and really doesn’t take any junk (to put it mildly) from her guests, once again Bob JR. is just trying to blame President Biden for something that he can’t even try to defend.

1st of all, Meta is a private company. If they block you, it’s their choice. This has nothing to do with the U.S. Government, or any other country.

I know Bob Kennedy is new to government and politics and really has no experience whatsoever in government. But the President of the United States (regardless of who the President is) does not run private companies.

Instagram which is a division of Meta, blocked RFK JR. back in 2021, because of his conspiracy theories that he was throwing around having to do with COVID. The U.S. Government doesn’t run Instagram or any other private social media network. They had nothing to do with RFK JR. being blocked.

Farron Cousins: ‘Marjorie Taylor Greene Says She Won’t Take Blame For Chaos She’s Causing’

Farron Balanced: Marjorie Taylor Greene Says She Won't Take Blame For Chaos She's CausingSource:Farron Balanced with a look at political escaped mental patient. I mean U.S. Representative Marjorie T. Greene (MAGA, Georgia)

Source:The New Democrat

“Marjorie Taylor Greene understands what’s at stake with her effort to remove Mike Johnson as the Speaker of the House, and she doesn’t care. In fact, she said this week that she will not accept ANY of the blame if the House ends up electing a Democratic speaker. To be fair, Greene is just continuing on the path that people like Matt Gaetz put the Party on last year, so she shouldn’t receive 100% of the blame, as Farron Cousins explains.”

From Farron Balanced

“Rep. Matt Gaetz of Florida, the Trump ally who engineered the ouster of McCarthy by a similar contingent of far-right Republicans, warned against trying to oust Johnson for fear of ending up with a Democratic speaker.

Gaetz was among eight Republicans who voted last October to remove McCarthy of California, with the help of all Democrats who were not willing to cast votes to save the embattled speaker.

“If we vacated this speaker, we’d end up with a Democrat,” Gaetz predicted late Thursday. “When I vacated the last one, I made a promise to the country that we would not end up with a Democrat speaker. … I couldn’t make that promise again today.”

From the Associated Press

“Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) said Tuesday that it is not her fault if House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) is promoted to the House’s top role after she filed a motion to vacate Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) from the position last week.

Greene pushed back on criticism that her motion against Johnson could result in Jeffries being elected Speaker due to the dwindling GOP majority in the lower chamber. She argued that Republican lawmakers who have cut their terms short and left office are the true ones to blame, not her.

“It’s just a simple math. The more Republicans, like Mike Gallagher, that resign and leave early — guess what, that means we have less Republicans in the House,” Greene said Tuesday on Real America’s Voice, a conservative cable channel. “So, every time a Mike Gallagher or a Ken Buck leaves early, that brings our numbers down and brings us dangerously closer to being in the minority.”

“It’s not Marjorie Taylor Greene that is saying the inconvenient truth and forcing everyone to wake up and realize Republican voters are done with us doing this kind of crap that we did last week,” she added.”

From The Hill

“As the ABC News Congressional reporter said in the video: when you file a privileged motion to vacate the Speaker of the House, the House has to vote on that motion within two days, regardless of who files the motion and whether they’re a majority or minority member of the House.

The Greene motion is not a privileged motion. So, she might just be putting Speaker Mike Johnson “on notice here”, or she might done her own whip count and can count high enough to see that most of the House Republicans would vote against it and a lot of House Democrats as well. And she doesn’t want to look even dumber and crazier than she already does. But that’s just my theory.”

From The New Democrat

What Farron Cousins didn’t mention and that might just because he’s not a member of the Congressional Junkies Club of America, (don’t look that up. No such club actually exists. At least that I’m aware of and I should know.) like me and isn’t as familiar with the Congressional rules in the House and Senate as we are. And as I mentioned last week right here, Representative Marjorie T. Greene’s motion to vacate Speaker Mike Johnson, is not a privileged motion. Which means House Majority Leader Steve Scalise, doesn’t have to bring it to the floor and schedule a vote on it.

Marjorie T. Greene could very well be an escaped mental patient from Mississippi or some place and then moved to rural Georgia, changed her name and physical appearance, to serve in the House of Representatives. (Which is why her mental institution can’t find her) Or, she should be an Oscar winning actress for playing the dumbest idiots and craziest maniacs in world history. And she’s actually a lot saner and smarter in private, then she seems to want her constituents and public to believe.

When it comes to her privileged motion (privileged motion being the key words here) to vacate Speaker Johnson, I’m thinking she’s just a great comedic actress (who really should be in Hollywood) playing a complete idiot and maniac on TV. Because if she had the votes to vacate the Speaker of the House, she would have already filed that privileged motion by now.

MTG is not in the House of Representatives to govern. (Also in the news: fire can burn human flesh) And to govern, you have to make deals all the time with the other party. At least to do the necessary things, like keeping the government open and avoiding debt defaults.

MTG is there to eliminate what’s left of the establishment wing of the Republican Party, (meaning the real Conservative Republicans) who right now are like Evangelical preachers at a porn convention. But who aren’t having as nearly as much fun as the preachers at the porn convention.

Michael Smerconish: Chris Wallace – Larry David Interview

Michael Smerconish: Giddy UpSource:Michael Smerconish talking about the Larry David – Chris Wallace interview, with Wallace wanting to know what David thinks about Donald J. Trump. As well as a lot of other less interesting stuff.

“Giddy Up”

From Michael Smerconish

“Curb Your Enthusiasm” star Larry David shares how he feels about former President Donald Trump and the 2020 election. Watch the full episode of “Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace,” streaming March 29 on Max.”

From CNN

At risk of stating the obvious to the point that it would be like I’m telling people not try to cross a busy street blindfolded, because that might be dangerous: (unless of course you are suicidal. Then by all means.) professional entertainers don’t like Donald J. Trump. And for obvious reasons. And there are exceptions to every rule. Like you might survive trying to cross a street blindfolded. Not something I would personally risk. But I can’t make that decision for everyone else.

There are professional entertainers in MAGA Land, like the country music industry, except for the most popular singer, that being Taylor Swift. And of course NASCAR, Jon Vaught, James Woods, Kristy Swanson, and perhaps a few others in Hollywood, and professional cowboys and cowgirls.

But if you are a big city person, with a big metropolitan background, (which of course Larry David being from New York obviously is) Donald Trump to you is like The Devil. I mean for most professional entertainers, Donald Trump is like the New York Yankees for Boston Red Sox fans. The New York Giants for Philadelphia Eagles fan, etc. They hate the man as much as Jews hate Arabs in the Middle East and vice-versa.

But just for the record and no, I’m not a big Larry David fan: I agree with him on everything that I’ve seen so far, about what he told Chris Wallace about Donald J. Trump. DJT is like the little boy who still can’t believe that he lost a one-one-one basketball game, to the new kid in the neighborhood, who looks like he gets beat up everyday, simply for being a geek and loses his lunch money and is forced to do the homework of the cool kids in school.

This is how Donald Trump views Joe Biden. As the biggest loser in the world, who shouldn’t even been allowed to run for President against him, let alone beat him. And because of that attitude, he’s putting at risk the future of American liberal democracy, which has kept this great country together for over 247 years now.

Ben Meiselas: ‘Donald Trump Lawyer JETS OUT OF COUNTRY after LOSING For This’

Meidas Touch: Donald Trump Lawyer JETS OUT OF COUNTRY after LOSING For This…Source:Meidas Touch talking about Trump University graduate & MAGA lawyer Alina Habba.

Source:The New Democrat

“MeidasTouch host Ben Meiselas reports on Donald Trump lawyer Alina Habba’s latest move after losing multiple cases for Trump where she has decided to celebrate in St. Barths.”

From the Meidas Touch

“Donald Trump’s glamorous lawyer Alina Habba jetted off to St. Barts to celebrate her 40th birthday over the weekend.

The legal guru took a break from defending the former President to enjoy a lavish vacation with her friends – and they certainly went all out on the trip.

They stayed in a stunning five-star resort and dined in some of the Caribbean island’s top restaurants.

Thankfully, the attorney’s best friend, TV personality Siggy Flicker, shared a glimpse into the luxurious getaway on her Instagram.”

From the Daily Mail

“Tim Miller: Trump scammed you, defrauded you, he stole your money to pay for his own ritzy lifestyle”

From The Lincoln Project

As I wrote about Alina Habba back in November:

“Alina Habba is not really a trial lawyer. She can barely afford to do whatever she does as a lawyer right now. She’s more of a public relations lawyer, if anything at all, who makes her living trying her client’s cases on TV and on social media. But she’s officially Donald Trump’s civil lawyer right now because she’s about the best of what’s left to try to defend him, because of his own financial situation and all the evidence that’s against him right now, in multiple cases.

Perhaps one of the reasons right now that Alina Habba owes millions of dollars, is because her own client is not paying her. But she’s trying to work for him anyway, perhaps banking on the fact that defending a former President of the United States, would lead to clients who can and would pay her very well for her legal advice and actions in the future. But that career strategy is obviously not working out for her right now.”

From The New Democrat

I guess I have a few reactions to this latest Alina Habba political tabloid, but completely accurate story. I guess tabloid is not the correct word here. Perhaps political reality TV story?

Alina Habba is not my lawyer. She’s not getting any of my money. Or government money from taxpayers. So why should I give a damn if there are roughly 70 million (give or take) escaped mental patients, or members of the National Association For The Advancement of Idiocy (not a real organization. Don’t bother trying to look it up.) who are crazy or dumb enough, to bankroll losers like Donald Trump, Alina Habba, and many others? We are talking about people who couldn’t pay their own damn bills, if they didn’t have nuts or idiots, or nutty idiots out there, that they could scam.

The answer to my own question, is because I’m a good, moral, person (it’s true. I’m not kissing my own feet here) who cares about innocent people. And who wants to try to persuade people before they dump all their money, including their life savings, along with their mortgage payments, car payments, etc, into the lake, that there’s a better investment for their money and better way to spend their own valuable time, then to throw their money away at professional losers and scammers like Donald Trump, Alina Habba and many others.

Alina Habba has already lost 550 million dollars of Donald Trump’s money, that he doesn’t even have. How much money is MAGA going to spend rewarding her for all her total, preventable losses? If losing pays in America, then Alina Habba is now one of the wealthiest losers in America.

CNN: Laura Coates Interviewing Texas Trey

CNN: 'Hillary Was Right'_ Lifelong GOP voter on why he is leaving the partySource:CNN anchor Laura Coates interviewing Texas Trey.

“Texas Trey, a lifelong Republican voter, speaks with CNN’s Laura Coates about why he plans to leave the party before the 2024 election.”

From CNN

“Hillary Clinton on Thursday blitzed presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump with a barrage of pointed and sarcastic attacks, casting him as dangerous with a petulant streak that could threaten U.S. national and global security.

Here are 34 of her most fiery charges:

1. “Donald Trump’s ideas aren’t just different – they are dangerously incoherent. They’re not even really ideas, just a series of bizarre rants, personal feuds and outright lies.”

2. “He’s not just unprepared – he’s temperamentally unfit to hold an office that requires knowledge, stability and immense responsibility.”

3. “This is not someone who should ever have the nuclear codes because it’s not hard to imagine Donald Trump leading us into a war just because somebody got under his very thin skin.”

4. “We cannot put the safety of our children and grandchildren in Donald Trump’s hands. We cannot let him roll the dice with America.”

5. “He has no ideas on education. No ideas on innovation. He has lots of ideas about who to blame but no clue about what to do.”

6. “This is a man who said that more countries should have nuclear weapons, including Saudi Arabia.”

7. “This is someone who has threatened to abandon our allies in NATO – the countries that work with us to root out terrorists abroad before they strike us at home.”

8. “He believes we can treat the U.S. economy like one of his casinos and default on our debts to the rest of the world, which would cause an economic catastrophe far worse than anything we experienced in 2008.”

9. “He has said that he would order our military to carry out torture and the murder of civilians who are related to suspected terrorists – even though those are war crimes.”

10. “He says he doesn’t have to listen to our generals or ambassadors because he has – quote – ‘a very good brain.’ He also said, ‘I know more about ISIS than the generals do, believe me.’ You know what? I don’t believe him.”

11. “He says climate change is a hoax invented by the Chinese, and has the gall to say that prisoners of war like John McCain aren’t heroes. (Pauses for boos) Exactly.”

12. “He praises dictators like Vladimir Putin and picks fights with our friends – including the British prime minister, the mayor of London, the German chancellor, the president of Mexico and the Pope.”

13. “We are not a country that cowers behind walls. We lead with purpose and we prevail.”

14. “He says he has foreign policy experience because he ran the Miss Universe pageant in Russia.”

15. “If Donald gets his way they’ll be celebrating in the Kremlin.”

16. “And to top it off, he believes America is weak. An embarrassment. He called our military a disaster. He said we are – quote – a ‘third-world country.’ And he’s been saying things like that for decades. These are the words of someone who doesn’t understand America or the world.”

17. “If you really believe America is weak – with our military, our values, our capabilities that no other country comes close to matching – then you don’t know America. And you certainly don’t deserve to lead it.”

18. “What’s Trump’s (ISIS plan)? Well, he won’t say. He is literally keeping it a secret. The secret, of course, is he has no idea how to stop ISIS.”

19. “Through all his loose talk there’s one constant theme: demonizing Muslims and playing right into the hands of ISIS.”

20. “Donald Trump doesn’t know the first thing about Iran or its nuclear program. Ask him – it will become very clear very quickly.”

21. “There’s no risk of people losing their lives if you blow up a golf course deal. But it doesn’t work like that in world affairs. Just like being interviewed on the same episode of ’60 Minutes’ as Putin was is not the same as actually dealing with Putin.”

22. “We cannot put the lives of our young men and women in uniform in Donald Trump’s hands.”

23. “The stakes in global statecraft are infinitely higher and more complex than in the world of luxury hotels.”

24. “We all know the tools Donald Trump brings to the table – bragging, mocking, composing nasty tweets. I am willing to bet he is writing a few right now.”

25. “I don’t understand Donald’s bizarre fascination with dictators and strongmen who have no love for America.”

26. “He praised China for the Tiananmen Square massacre – he said it showed strength. He said, ‘You’ve got to give Kim Jong Un credit’ for taking over North Korea – something he did by murdering everyone he saw as a threat, including his own uncle, which Donald described gleefully, like he was recapping an action movie.”

27. “I will leave it to the psychiatrists to explain his affection for tyrants.”

28. “I just wonder how anyone could be so wrong about who America’s real friends are. Because it matters. Because if you don’t know exactly who you’re dealing with, men like Putin will eat your lunch.”

29. “Every president faces hard choices every day, with imperfect information and conflicting imperatives. … Making the right call takes a cool head and respect for the facts. It takes a willingness to listen to other people’s points of view with a truly open mind. It also takes humility – knowing you don’t know everything – because if you’re convinced you’re always right, you’ll never ask yourself the hard questions.”

30. “Now imagine Donald Trump sitting in the Situation Room, making life-or-death decisions on behalf of the United States.”

31. “Imagine him deciding whether to send your spouses or children into battle.”

32. “Imagine if he had not just his Twitter account at his disposal when he’s angry, but America’s entire arsenal.”

33. “Do we want him making those calls – someone thin-skinned and quick to anger, who lashes out at the smallest criticism? Do we want his finger anywhere near the button?”

34. “Making Donald Trump our commander-in-chief would be a historic mistake.”

Clinton was right about Trump tweeting during her remarks.”

From CNN

The title of this CNN video was: “‘Hillary was right’: Lifelong GOP voter on why he is leaving the party”. I don’t know which exact quote from Hillary Clinton that the man who goes by Texas Trey was referring to. So I just gave you 34 of them from one of her 2016 speeches on Donald J. Trump. Happy reading.

I’m in a similar political ballpark as Texas Trey. (It’s baseball season) I’m officially a Democrat, because I like my members of Congress in Maryland, my representative Jamie Raskin and my two senators Ben Cardin and Chris Van Hollen. And I at least before he was elected President, I was a fan of Joe Biden as well. And I think he’s doing a good job now, but he’s not a political hero of mine.

I’m not a Democrat because I think Alexandria O. Cortez, Bernie Sanders and other Socialist Democrats in Congress, are like “totally awesome rockstars” or something. I’m a Thomas Jefferson/JFK, Classical Liberal (meaning real Liberal) Democrat ideologically. And I’m still officially a Democrat, again, not because I’m some left-wing, hipster, or something, that wants to convert America into Scandinavia. But because Democrats tend to believe in progress and making things better for the country, empowering more people to be able to take control of their lives.

Whereas when Republicans are in power, they tend to just argue with each other and not just about whose the most loyal to the MAGA cult leader Donald Trump, but also what to do when it comes to policy. The 2017 ObamaCare repeal debate, where they failed both to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act, is just on example of that. And now when they just barely control of the House of Representatives and have no other elected power in Washington, they’re debating whether they should vacate Speaker Mike Johnson, because he wouldn’t shut down the government for them.

I would probably check myself into a mental hospital, voluntarily, my idea only, before I would ever become a Republican today. Because that’s what the modern Republican Party (which is really just Donald Trump’s MAGA party) is, a political asylum.

So I see where Texas Trey is coming from. He’s basically voting for President Joe Biden in November, because the current President isn’t a dictator and doesn’t want to be a dictator. And even if Democrats hold The White House and win back complete control of Congress this year, as Texas Trey said, Republicans and the country as a whole would live to fight another day politically. And there would be elections again in 2025 and 2026 to hold Democrats accountable.

Jesse Dollemore: ‘Fox News Hosts DEBASE THEMSELVES Defending Trump’s Truth Social!’

Jesse Dollemore: Fox News Hosts DEBASE THEMSELVES Defending Trump's Truth Social!Source:Jesse Dollemore talking about the lack of members of Truth Social.

Source:The New Democrat

“Jesse talks about the humiliating defense of Donald Trump’s failing Truth Social platform that was undertaken by the goofy hosts of Fox News’s The Five program yesterday. Dana Perino, Jeanine Pirro, Greg Gutfeld, and Jesse Watters all went to bat to defend Donald Trump’s Truth Social. They explained how great and effective the platform is; however, none of them have ever personally used it!”

From Jesse Dollemore

Justin Baragona: “The rest of The Five gang up on Jessica Tarlov when she points out that Truth Social loses money and only has 500,000 users.

Jesse Watters takes great offense when Tarlov asks to see his phone when he claims he uses Truth Social all the time.”

From Justin Baragona

According to Fox News host Jesse Watters, Truth Social is so “awesome” (or whatever pop culture adjective that you want to use) that he can’t use it. He can say he has a Truth Social account, but it’s like the 1965 Ferrari (or whatever the car and year that he has) it’s too good and valuable to ever take out for a drive. Which makes as much sense as trying to walk from New York to San Francisco, barefoot, on glass.

I’ve been flirting with the idea of getting a Truth Social account myself, just to see what it’s like and what people do on it. Not to ever actually post anything on it. So maybe I would be like Jesse Walters that way.

But creating a Truth Social account for myself, would be sort of like voluntarily committing myself to a mental institution, especially a secure forensic hospital, where they send violent criminals, who are technically not guilty for reason of insanity. And I would go in there as an undercover or something, just to see what the experience would be like. But I’ve never been stupid or crazy enough, or had enough guts to ever go through with that.

This blog refers to MAGA as the Mass Army of Gigantic Assholes. But that’s only because that’s exactly who they are. According to these folks, America hasn’t been great since women have been allowed to vote, let alone minorities having the right to vote and the rest of their constitutional rights being enforced under law as well.

This is exactly what Truth Social is. Its’ where the Mass Army of Gigantic Assholes (also known as MAGA) get together online, to talk about how America has been going to hell, at least since the 1960s, but really the last 100 years. And how their cult leader Donald J. Trump can make America Anglo Saxon and Protestant again. I guess other Northern Europeans would be allowed in that small club as well. Truth Social is really just an online secure forensic hospital, for the social media insane.

The Daily Show: Jordan Klepper: ‘On Donald Trump’s Bible Grift & GOP Reaction to Baltimore Bridge Collapse’

The Daily Show: Jordan Klepper On Donald Trump's Bible Grift and GOP Reaction to Baltimore Bridge CollapseSource:The Daily Show talking about Donald J. Trump’s latest grift to profit off of God. God being someone DJT knows nothing about.

Source:The New Democrat

“Jordan Klepper tackles Trump’s new branded Bibles and how right-wing media is rushing to blame the Baltimore bridge collapse on Democratic policy. Plus, Josh Johnson weighs in on Florida’s social media ban for children under 14, and what this means for the rising generation of schoolyard bullies.”

From The Daily Show

As my colleague Kire Schneider wrote in February about Donald J. Trump’s and his MAGA soldier actor Jon Voight (actor being the key word there) attempt to profit off of God and use that to win more MAGA, I mean Republican votes:

“I’m not a mindreader, (also in the news: I’m not an astronaut, who moonlights as a brain surgeon, even in outer space) so maybe Jon Voight really does believe that Don Trump is the Son of God. And maybe he also believes in Santa Claus and the New York Yankees will relocate to Alabama. and the confederate flag will be the new Yankees logo. Who knows what’s really in the mind of actors anyway? But the man is an actor and a great one at that. He’a also 85 years old and could be losing his mind. So just to automatically take him seriously on anything, that doesn’t involve his own personal carer and life, I’m not sure there’s enough salt on the planet (a grain wouldn’t do) for me to do that, because I believe in facts and evidence.”

From The New Democrat

As Donald Trump’s niece Mary L. Trump wrote about her uncle and his religion yesterday:

Mary L. Trump:

1) He’s never prayed in his life.

2) If that were a real bible, it would burst into a ball of flame.

From Mary L. Trump

“It’s very important and very important to me,” Trump, the presumptive 2024 GOP presidential nominee, said in the video. “I want to have a lot of people have it. You have to have it for your heart, for your soul.”

Mary Trump, an author and psychologist who frequently criticizes her uncle, responded to the former president’s video announcement in a post to X, formerly Twitter, Tuesday evening, saying that her uncle has “never prayed” and that “If that were a real bible, it would burst into a ball of flame.”

From Newsweek

I really just have two points here about this myself.

1. I think you are more likely to see Communists praying, then you would ever see Donald Trump either at a church praying in private, or praying at home in private. As far Donald J. Trump is concern, he is God. And therefor doesn’t have to live by or follow the same rules as us mere mortals.

And you can talk about Mr. Trump meeting with so many different religious leaders all you want. But let’s keep it real: all those discussions were probably about politics and the kind of judges that he would appoint as President. I mean there are real differences between religious leaders and people who try to use religion to advance their own politics.

2. If Donald Trump were honest, (and enough money grew on trees so he could pay off all his financial and legal debts and could honestly declare himself a billionaire that way) he would probably be on truth serum, because serial liars like Donald J. Trump generally can’t be honest intentionally. At least not about less than perfect issues about themselves, but he would probably be on truth serum and say something like this:

“Look, to all my MAGA faithful: I’m in a 200 million dollar plus hole here. And I know I’ve been telling you I’m a billionaire, but of course that’s not true. Just using that to try to get you to vote for me. I need a lot of money very quickly to pay off all these legal and financial debts. Will you please buy these piece of trash, fake Bibles, so I can’t get out of debt, fight all these court cases, and be able to move on with my life.”

So MAGA (which actually stands for Mass Army of Gigantic Assholes) of course will buy every DJT Bible that they can possibly afford. Until it becomes a choice of buying the DJT Bible and moving out of their trailer park. or not buying another DJT bible and keeping their trailer home.

But when you part of the Mass Army of Gigantic Assholes, (also known as MAGA) you are one of the biggest assholes that’s known to man and therefor so lost in space, that you would believe Donald Trump is a “recovering gay’, who just successfully completed “gay conversion therapy”, if he told you that. So it’s hard for a mere mortal like myself, to feel sorry for suckers like that. They’re getting exactly what bought into.

Michael Popok: ‘Donald Trump Gives PLAN For Criminal Trial That ALREADY FAILED’

Meidas Touch: Donald Trump Gives PLAN for Criminal Trial that ALREADY FAILEDSource:Meidas Touch legal analyst Michael Popok talking about Defendant Don.

Source:The New Democrat

“Trump IS FREELOADING again, threatening to WAIVE the 5TH and TESTIFY in the NY criminal trial. But will he? Michael Popok explores the last FOUR TRUMP trials where he threatened to or did testify, and the results as he predicts whether Trump is BLUFFING this time.”

From the Meidas Touch

As I wrote yesterday on The New Democrat about Donald J. Trump’s defense case in the upcoming Manhattan, New York hush money case:

“Asking Donald Trump to keep a secret, is like asking a goldfish to go without water, or asking a dolphin (not the Miami Dolphins) to run the New York Marathon. He’s not what you would call a poker player. At least not a successful poker player. He just laid out his entire defense for his upcoming Manhattan trial. And that’s assuming Judge Juan Merchan will allow a defense that actually has nothing to do with the case at hand.”

From The New Democrat

Donald Trump testifying for himself, especially in a criminal trial, is like a goldfish going for a swim in a shark tank. Or, a turtle, challenging a horse to a footrace. A mouse trying to run circles around a kitty cat. Peewee Herman challenging Mike Tyson to a boxing match. None of these things could ever end well. At least for the people making the challenges here.

As I said yesterday, putting Donald J. Trump under oath and in the witness box, to testify for himself, you might as well put a serial liar (which is what Donald J. Trump is) on truth serum, without him knowing about it and put that person in the witness box, under oath:

“Of course I did it! Of course I’m guilty! I deserve every punishment under law!”

With Mr. Trump sort of coming back to Planet Earth (but just for a visit) and realize what he just did and that he just convicted himself. But we’ll see. He testified for himself in the New York fraud trail. So he’s done stranger things to himself.
