Lorri Ford: 1948 Television Commercials

Source:The New Democrat

Aw shucks, if I could only go back to the innocent 1940s again. That golly swell innocent time post World War II, well a great time for anyone who didn’t happen to be African-American and perhaps female as well regardless of race. The problem with me being alive back then, would be that I would now be in my mid-60s right now and not having much of an opportunity to live through a lot of the 21st Century which I hope to do. But the 1940s was a good time for some Americans, at least post World War II.

CBS Evening News: Dan Rather-George H.W. Bush Tiff The Day After

\

Source:The New Democrat

I haven’t seen this video in about three years and I saw it then on YouTube. And if I heard anything about it as a kid in 1987 when this interview was conducted when I was 11-12 when, I don’t remember. So I don’t remember this interview very well to say the least, but a post about that interview and the interview itself will be on this blog in the future. What I can say about it is whatever you think of Dan Rather, the man was a tough hardball interviewer who liked to go after people in power. George H.W. Bush was Vice President of the United States when, so he obviously qualified.

The Tonight Show With Johnny Carson: Da Coach Mike Ditka (January, 1987)

Source:The New Democrat

Here’s a great comedy duo for you. Da Coach perhaps better known as Mike Ditka the former head coach of the Chicago Bears in the 1980s and early 90s. And of course The King of LateNight Johnny Carson. In January of 1987 and I only know that because they were talking about the upcoming the Super Bowl 21 between the New York Giants and Chicago Bears. The Bears sort of had a disappointing season in 1986 which is why they weren’t back in the Super Bowl that season.

Johnny Carson seem more interested in when Bears quarterback Jim McMahon than anything else. And of course Coach Ditka’s famous temper as a head coach. And not talking about the Bears 86 season where they didn’t even get back to the NFC Final that year and instead lost the divisional playoff to the Redskins. I think Ditka pretty much nailed it when he said that “it is not that Jim McMahon doesn’t like him personally, but that Ditka is the coach and McMahon doesn’t like authority figures at all”. And Ditka was McMahon’s head coach that McMahon was directed by.

The Fall Guy With Heather Thomas

Apparently Brendan Cashell is not familiar with Heather Thomas or The Fall Guy, even though he uploaded a photo about her and the show: interesting.

” Heather Thomas – The Fall guy S3 E22 Old Heroes never die”

The Daily Post_ The Fall Guy With Heather ThomasSource:Lou Reed– Douglas Barr & Heather Thomas.

From Lou Reed

When I think of the ABC action show The Fall Guy, an action comedy really from the early and mid 1980’s, I think of a very entertaining show with an excellent cast especially Lee Majors leading the way. Who was a great action comedic actor similar to Burt Reynolds or Clint Eastwood and also a very funny man not only on the Fall Guy. But since he was somebody who could kick ass as well as make you laugh on the same show. The Fall Guy had a great 4×4 Chevy pickup truck with a very powerful engine and the ability to jump like a sports car.

It was set in Los Angeles with Lee Majors playing a full-time stunt man who would moonlight as a bounty hunter when his job as a stunt man was slow to make extra money. And the two roles I thought went very well together because he could combine the roles very well. The show also had a gorgeous very sexy adorable blonde who played a stunt woman/bounty hunter. Heather Thomas who always looked sexy and wore skin-tight denim jeans on that show most of the time probably as often as Raechel Ray. Not with the type of body as Rachael Ray, but still looking very sexy.

The Fall Guy was probably the first of several action/comedies slash dramas in the 1980s later to be followed by Matt Houston, The A-Team, Dukes of Hazard was still around at this point. Magnum PI, Knight Rider shows that had very versatile actors and actress’s with producers, directors and writers that wanted to show their cast’s full abilities as actors. Charlie’s Angels would be another one and following it in this period myself it was a time when network TV was actually worth watching and not loaded with cookie-cutter sitcoms or so-called reality TV.

Warner Brothers: Helter Shelter- Story of The Charles Manson Family

Charles Manson - Helter Skelter

Source:Warner Brothers– Looks like part of the filming of the 1976 Helter Skelter movie.

Source:The Daily Press

“Helter Skelter – Trailer”

From Warner Brothers

In 1976 there was a two-part TV mini-series I believe on CBS about the Manson Crime Family from the late 1960s and even after their leader Charles Manson was arrested in late 1969 for his role in the Tate murders and other murders during the Manson Family murder spree from the summer of 1969, a summer Los Angeles will never forget.

The Manson Family was still in business so to speak in the early 1970s and even up to 1975 with Lynette Squeaky Frohm’s attempt to assassinate President Gerald Ford.

And this mini-series was about the murders of the Manson Family in the Summer of 1969 and other business about the Manson Family. It was not a religious cult, there was some spirituality in it. But it was basically about a petty thief, pimp, career criminal who was never very good at staying out of prison. Who would get released from prison for the last time in the mid 1960s and work his way to the San Francisco area, pick up some girls in their late teens early 20s who ran away from home.

These were young adults late teens for the most part who seemed somewhat lost and build a family made up of high school and college dropouts. People that they believed were kissed off from society and Charlie Manson finally found a group of people who seemed like him, somewhat lost in the World. That didn’t seem to fit in with mainstream society and he founded his soldiers that would take out their anger against mainstream society.

Charlie Manson wasn’t intelligent in the sense that he was well-educated, he didn’t get through high school or make it to high school. He grew up in prison basically, in juvenile hall and probably didn’t spend much time in school there. He never knew his father and his mother was a prostitute who didn’t spend much time with her son and Charlie got moved around a lot as a kid. And probably didn’t feel very loved, as an FBI profiler once said about Manson on NBC Dateline: “Charlie Manson is an example of what happens when we don’t raise our kids well”.

Society in a sense has some blame here for creating Charlie Manson. Not to excuse Manson because he’s exactly where he belongs and will and should never leave prison. But society isn’t innocent here in the creation of Charlie Manson.

And what Manson had in his crime family were the people who would take out revenge for him against society: “If you were part of the establishment and successful in life, living in the Los Angeles area and they knew about you, you were a target of the Manson Family”. To paraphrase Vince Bugliosi who prosecuted the Manson Family. Charlie wasn’t stupid but he wasn’t educated either.

Charlie Manson had talent to play and write music, but also to read people and know how they work and how he could work them up to the point where he could make people kill for him, Charles Watson, Patricia Krenwenkell, Leslie Van Houten, Susan Atkins and others. And they found their targets in actress Sharon Tate, Karen Folger and others and killed them.

The Manson Family murders were some of the worst murders ever committed. Adolph Hitler, Saddam Hussein would’ve been proud of these murders.

The Manson victims literally being stabbed and hanged to death in their own homes and their blood being spread around their homes. The Manson Family literally left their mark and were begging for the death penalty with their murders. And we’re given the death penalty before the U.S. Supreme Court outlawed the death penalty in I believe 1973. The only reason why these serial murderers are alive today. Their lives being spared something they didn’t do for their victims and they are the poster children for why we need to raise our kids well.

And the Manson Crime Family had to be stopped for them to pay their debt to society. But to put them out of business so they couldn’t strike again.

Old TV History: President Dwight Eisenhower WRC-TV (1958) Oldest Known Color TV Broadcast

Source:The New Democrat

There were already color movies in the 1950s and very good color movies. Like North by Northwest to use as an example, but color TV really didn’t have much of an impact at all until the late 1960s or so. Which is why this press conference by President Dwight Eisenhower is such a big deal. Because millions of Americans were getting to see something they never saw before most likely in 1958 and something that wouldn’t become common in TV until the early 1970s.

Mark Nowhereman: ‘Female Motorcycle Riding Instructor OutTakes’

“Proper body positioning on a sportbike when cornering
(Canyon Riding) Demonstrated by a real biker chick. Click the link below…

From Mark Nowhereman

Here are outtakes from Heidi who apparently is a motorcycle instructor or at least a woman who rides motorcycles and perhaps helping her friend Mark out in shooting this video about how to ride motorcycles. She seems very adorable certainly looks adorable, but is she the cutest biker in the world. I couldn’t tell you since I haven’t seen all of the biker chicks in the world. (ha ha) But she’s certainly a beautiful baby-face biker chick who I’m sure Mark loved working with.

Checking out girls on bikes is like checking out girls who are cowgirls or construction workers or playing guitar or on stage performing. It’s checking out women who do traditional at least straight man oriented activities and sort of looking at ourselves, but seeing beautiful sexy feminine women instead and most at least that I know of love seeing women do these activities that is sexy feminine women especially when they are this cute as well.

HBO Sports: Lombardi (2011) Joining The Redskins

HBO Sports_ Lombardi (2011) Joining The Redskins

Source:HBO– Redskins QB Sonny Jurgensen (1964-74)
Source:The Daily Press

“Hall of Famers Sam Huff and Sonny Jurgensen remember the huge impact Vince Lomabrdi had when he arrived at the Redskins…

From HBO

When Vince Lombardi came to Washington to take over the Redskins in 1969, he wasn’t taking over the worst franchise in the NFL. The Redskins were 5-9 in 1968 under head coach Otto Graham. Obviously not a good record, but Lombardi was taking over a club that hadn’t won in a long time.

Forget about playoffs (to paraphrase Jim Mora) the Redskins hadn’t even had a winning season since 1955. Even with Sonny Jurgensen at QB, the best season that the Redskins had with Sonny pre-Lombardi, was 7-7 and they did that a few times.

So when you see this video clip with Sonny Jurgensen and former New York Giants and Redskins LB Sam Huff, that’s what they’re talking about. They were talking about the situation that the Redskins were in pre-Vince Lombardi and what his place was to turn the franchise around. Which was about winning and teaching this team, that did have a good deal of talent on it, especially on offense, how to win, and what he expected from them.

The thing that Vince Lombardi hated more than anything in life was losing. So no way in hell is he coming out of retirement, or leaving the Green Packers as their general manager, to take over another club and lose with them.

Mark Nowhereman: Heidi Runyon- ‘A Gorgeous Female Ducati Motorcycle Rider’

Heidi Runyon - Biker Chick

“Biker Chick! A Gorgeous Female DUCATI Motorcycle Rider”

From Mark Nowhereman

Female bikers to guys are probably like female cowgirls or female construction workers or rocker chicks or female truck drivers. Attractive sexy real women doing things that guys normally do, but looking sexy because they are sexy, beautiful in a lot of cases and feminine. Its like looking at us but seeing attractive sexy feminine women not dykes (not that there’s anything wrong with that if that’s who you are) doing these activities instead.

I believe this is why guys like action movies or action TV shows featuring if not having an attractive sexy woman playing the lead in the movie who looks great who is a real woman, but kicks ass and doesn’t take lets say junk from anyone (to keep it clean). The movie Barb Wire with Pam Anderson comes to mind or Thelma and Louise with Susan Surandon and Gina Davis would be another good example of that. Intent to Kill with Tracy Lords playing a big shot tough sexy Los Angeles police detective dressed as a biker chick most of the movie, but drives a car would be another example as well.

So seeing attractive women on bikes in the biker gear denim or leather or both either sitting behind her boyfriend or riding the bike herself, I gotta admit gives me a ride (pardon the pun) and a lot of other guys rides as well. Because they are seeing the attractive sexy feminine versions of ourselves and makes the experience that much more entertaining and why you see a lot of movies now and twenty-five years ago of essentially sexy attractive women essentially quite frankly playing the roles of dudes.

PBS NewsHour: Shields & Brooks On ISIS & Bob McDonnell

Source:The New Democrat

I believe the United States is getting ready to wipeout ISIS, the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria and NATO may help them out. And NATO may step in when it comes to Ukraine as well by arming the Ukrainian Government against the Russian Federation and their rebels. To me that seems what these meetings this week were about. And it reminds me of what happened in Libya in 2011 when the West got off to a slow start in dealing with Quadafi, but finally got around to doing the right thing.

As far as Bob McDonnell the former Governor of Virginia. The former GOP superstar who without this scandal would’ve made a very prominent Republican presidential candidate in 2016, has seen his career fall as fast as the Stock Market in 2008, or an asteroid being dropped from a bridge into the water. And why, because of Bob McDonnell and his wife and their own selfishness in using Virginia taxpayer funds for their own personal expenses.

As far as the Kansas Senate race. I’ve always believed the U.S. Senate was a tossup that could go either way with a Republican majority in the next Congress looking like 51-49. Or Senate Democrats holding in the Senate with a 50-50 margin because Vice President Joe Biden is a Democrat. But with Senate Pat Roberts now facing a popular mainstream at most center-left Independent that would most likely caucus with Senate Democrats in the next caucus and you add Georgia and Kentucky that are vulnerable for Senate Republicans who have to hold those seats, no one knows which party will control the Senate in the next Congress.
