Josh Hammer: Sydney Sweeney VS. The Woke Mob

“Josh Hammer slams the woke mob after Sydney Sweeney refuses to bow to the backlash over her jeans ad and stands her ground in a new interview. He breaks down the political chaos in New York as the Mamdani administration approaches and exposes the deadly crisis facing Christians in Nigeria—and what the Trump administration is doing to fight back.”

Source:Newsweek with a look at actress Sydney Sweeney.

From Newsweek

As Ederik said about this back in August:

“So my broader point here and Yaron Brook got into it as well… this is really just about race and color with the “WOKE-Left”. If the model here was African, or Asian-American, even Spanish-Latino (that leftists don’t consider to be white) and the model was saying that she has great jeans, (jeans with a J) no one is freaking out about this. That’s the point that I would add to what Yaron said. But the woman with light hair, sort of light in complexion, light build, looks like she could be some preppy girl from the suburbs, someone the far-left would call “white privileged”, they freak out over this commercial.

And I guess my past point here is, as unpopular as Donald Trump and “MAGA” are today, the far-left seems to be addicted to reminding voters why the Democratic Party is unpopular as well. They seem to have this uncontrollable desire to remind voters:

“Hey, you might hate the Republican Party right now, but before you go to the voting booth, don’t forget to remember how much we suck as well and how crazy and out-of-touch we are with you. Do you really want a political party like us even in-charge of a local fruit stand, let lone running part of the Federal Government right now?”

But if that’s not bad enough, when they take these crazy positions, they seem to feel the need to try to get their friendly voices in the media to stand behind them, whether it’s on MSNBC, or CNN, or even freakin Stephen Colbert who lost his job on CBS, because he’s seen as too friendly with “WOKE-Left” in America.”

From The New Democrat

I guess I’m more with Ayn Rand and George Carlin on this, but I agree with Josh Hammer’s broader point. Americans shouldn’t give a damn about offending the far-left, which includes the woke-left. People who maybe represent 2-3-10 Americans, shouldn’t get to decide what the rest of the country is allowed to watch on TV, what music they can listen to, what publications they should be allowed to read, what commentators they can listen to… what and how women should dress in public.

If you believe in individualism and personal freedom, free speech… (just 3 of the American liberal values that make America the great country that it is) you are not worried about what some woke-leftist or MAGA fundamentalist thinks, about how you live your own life. Because unlike the cultural warriors, you have a life. Perhaps you drink something besides overly sweet and caffeinated coffee all day. And you have enough brain cells to be able to think for yourself.

Free thinking and acting Americans are in the minority. But that’s more about social and cultural, than it’s political. Americans tend to want to be cool and popular and be seen that way. And you live under that mindset, you aren’t go feel as free to make your own social and fashion choices, because you are worried about whoever the in-crowd (at the time) thinks about your own individual choices.

But if you are familiar with my own blogging, you know that I’m a big fan of both George Carlin and Jim Morrison, a certain extent Bill Maher. Why? They didn’t become popular and cultural icons, by doing what the rest of the so-called cool people were doing and how they were talking. They became icons by thinking and acting for themselves. And people saw what they were doing, what they were saying and thought those guys were cool and were interesting and became fans of them.

And that’s what American Eagle and Sydney Sweeney did here. They didn’t poll MAGA or WOKE before they decided to go with that commercial. They found a good looking woman, an up-incoming actress and made a denim jeans commercial with her, in long, wide-leg, baggy denim pants (that some people call jeans) with the tag line: “Sydney Sweeney Has Great Jeans”. With the far-left freaking out about that, simply because they chose a Caucasian woman, instead of a minority. And guess what? American Eagle has never backed down from that, because they believe in American freedom. And should be rewarded for that, not punished.

Adam Kinzinger: You Can’t Bulldoze The People

“Adam Kinzinger breaks down the stunning election results and what they mean for the Republican Party and Donald Trump’s political future. From California’s Prop 50 victory to Democratic blowouts in Virginia, New Jersey, and New York, Kinzinger shares his insider perspective on why the GOP is struggling, how authenticity is winning voters, and why “you can’t bulldoze the people.”

Source:Adam Kinzinger with a look at Election Night 2025.

From Adam Kinzinger

As my colleague Erik wrote yesterday:

“And to talk about Chris Cillizza’s broader point about who won and lost that night and what that means going forward, I have 2 points here:

1. As the late, great former Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives (Thomas Tip O’Neill) so famously and accurately said: all politics is local. So what does that mean? Of course Republicans are going to try to tie the broader Democratic Party, including the real Liberals and Progressives, with the Socialists, now that NYC is going to have a Socialist Mayor and that 1 of their U.S. Reps. (Alexandria O. Cortez) is a strong, potential, contender for the Democratic nomination for President in 28. But they were going to do that anyway. And they have nothing else going for them right now, anyway. They’re completely in charge in Washington and their leader has a 37-40% job approval, depending on what polls you look at.

2. But as DNC Chairman Ken Martin told CNN last night, the Democratic Party is a big tent party. So that means Liberals (like The New Democrat) and most mainstream Democrats. But it also means a party that has Socialists, as we saw last night in New York. And since neither faction is big enough to govern this country by themselves, they need their center-right, their center-left, and their left-wing, working and getting elected together. Instead of 1 faction of the party trying to wipe out the other faction, before they try to defeat the Republicans.”

From The New Democrat

I think Adam Kinzinger’s key point is this:

“1 of the things that Rahm Emanuel (Democratic House Campaign Committee Chairman – 2005-06) did very well in 06, is that he recruited Democratic candidates who looked like the district that they were running in.

You couldn’t run a Zohran Mamdani or another Socialist, in a conservative district in Texas. Just like you couldn’t run a “Conservative Democrat” in New York City. Maybe you could, but that Democrat wouldn’t win the Democratic primary in New York.” (Not Adam Kinzinger’s worst closely, but very close)

I know the far-left hates Rahm Emanuel for multiple reasons, but 1 in particular is ideology. And this is at his playbook from 05-06 and how Democrats won back the House in 2006 and I’m sure the Senate as well that year:

Geographic Reach: As Chairman of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) in the 2006 election cycle, Emanuel championed a strategy of recruiting candidates who could win in historically Republican-leaning “red” districts. This meant supporting candidates who were often more moderate on social issues or fiscally conservative.

Candidate Diversity: He supported a wide array of candidates, including those who held different views from the party consensus on issues like abortion (pro-life Democrats) or gun control, to ensure the party could compete in diverse districts and build a larger governing majority.

Focus on Common-Sense Issues: In recent comments, Emanuel has suggested Democrats should “stop talking about bathrooms and locker rooms and start talking about the classroom,” advocating for a shift in focus to kitchen-table issues and concerns that resonate with a broader swath of the electorate.

Pragmatism over Ideology: His approach is often described as pragmatic and “cold” in its analysis, prioritizing electability and legislative majorities over ideological purity.

Winning First: The core of the strategy is that a party must win elections to govern and implement any part of its agenda. Expanding the tent is seen as a necessary step to achieve that goal.

You can find this on Google

Look, I’m not a centrist/moderate. (Whatever the hell that’s supposed to mean anymore) I’m a JFK Democrat, just like the rest of The New Democrat. We’re all JFK Liberals. So this is not about arguing for a “centrist/moderate” Democratic Party, to try to take down Donald Trump and MAGA. But at the end of the day, political parties are only in the business to win. The more they win, the more they are able to govern, the more money they’re able to raise, the more voters they bring in… assuming that they govern well. The latter is obviously always the hardest part

A big reason why Abigail Spanberger won in Virginia on Tuesday and Mikki Sherrill won in New Jersey on Tuesday, (along with who they ran against and President Trump) is because they’re both center-right, fiscally responsible, national security hawks, who will protect the streets in their states. Who also connected very well with ordinary voters in their states and addressed the economic concerns of the voters in their states. But neither of them would’ve even won the Democratic primary in New York, or San Francisco… or any other big city in America with a large Socialist faction in it.

The reason why New York City will have a Socialist Mayor next year and the next 4 years, is because the economy is bad up there, a lot of people are struggling and Zohran Mamdani spoke to the concerns of those voters and made his whole campaign about affordability. And the fact that NYC has a large Socialist bloc (at least compared with other big cities) didn’t hurt the Mamdani campaign either. But Mamdani probably couldn’t win statewide in New Jersey, definitely not in Virginia… perhaps not even in New York State.

The Left is already talking about socialism is the way to go and that they’ve finally taken over the Democratic Party, or are about too. They’re obviously entitled to believe that. The problem is most of the country still doesn’t want a socialist government, they sure as hell don’t want a socialist party. But for the Democratic Party to be successful next year and going forward, they are going need Socialists to run and win where they can. And for the real Liberals to run and win in the rest of the country, especially where Republicans currently hold those seats.

Chris Cillizza: My Five BIG Takeaways From Election 2025

“The 2025 election is over — and the results weren’t even close.
Democrats dominated across the board, from the Virginia and New Jersey governor’s races to key ballot measures in California. But what does it all mean?

In this video, I break down my five biggest takeaways from Election Night 2025 — what happened, why it matters, and what it tells us about the political landscape heading into 2026 and beyond.

Here’s a quick preview:

1️⃣ Donald Trump lost — and his reaction says everything.
2️⃣ Gavin Newsom quietly had the best night of anyone in politics.
3️⃣ Latino voters have officially become the ultimate swing vote.
4️⃣ Why Democrats shouldn’t mistake 2025’s wins for a 2028 coronation.
5️⃣ The GOP’s Trump problem isn’t getting smaller — it’s getting worse.

Plus, a bonus takeaway: the 2025 results could reshape how both parties approach 2026.”

Source:Chris Cillizza on the Democrats great night.

From Chris Cillizza

Just a personal observation, first and then I’ll get into what I actually want to talk about and try to sound serious… just for a little bit.

Either Chris Cilliza was in a hurry today and had to be somewhere else, (like 60 seconds after this video was completed) or he lives in a coffee house and has been drinking nothing but coffee all day. Because this was a 12 minute video and he just zipped right though it. Or maybe that’s what you have to do to sound cool on YouTube today… you have like 5 points, get to the point and finish what your saying. Like someone who is trapped in a water tank and is running out of air.

So here is my takeaway and I’ll respond to what Chris Cillizza said.

So it’s not just Donald Trump who lost last night and might be the biggest loser. It’s really his MAGA movement (which is really just MDTG: Make Donald Trump Great) that lost, everywhere. I mean the 2 governor races with New Jersey and Virginia, and NYC.

New Jersey:

New Jersey is a state of 9.5 million people or so. That equals about 5 million eligible voters, perhaps less, if not everyone is an American citizen. And Democrats have about 900,000 more voters than Democrats. That’s a major advantage.

Yes, Republicans can win statewide there, but not by pretending you are so some good ole boy from Hickville, running for Governor of Mississippi, or some other some other MAGA red state. Or Blue Collar Joe from Hackensack, who thinks anyone with a college education, and wealth, is some type of elitist, American traitor or something.

The so-called “angry white man” campaign, doesn’t work in New Jersey, when you have a unpopular Republican President and New Jersey voters are pissed off at the national government because the high cost of living and all the government closures, which cost them good jobs.

But this is all news to Republican nominee for Governor Jack Ciattarelli, who if you looked at his campaign for Governor, you might think he was running for Governor of West Virginia, maybe Kentucky.

But the only way a Republican wins statewide in a sate like New Jersey, is running as a Reaganite. You focus on economic issues and affordability. You paint Democrats as tax and spend, fiscally irresponsible leftists. And you tell New Jersey voters how you are going to make the state more affordable and talk about expanding economic freedom and opportunity. That’s how Chris Christie and Christine T. Whitman won 2 governors races, each, in New Jersey. Not about making their whole campaign about gay teachers in public schools, boys in girls bathrooms, or claim that Democrats want Sharia Law to take over the America, etc. The whole, damn, MAGA culture war.

Virginia: So let’s talk about my neighboring state just across the Potomac River.

So the political makeup in Virginia, is roughly 3 million Democrats and 1.7 million Republicans. That’s in a state of about 9 million people. But try to convince Lieutenant Governor Winsome Earle-Sears (Republican nominee for Governor) of that. Again, wrong candidate, in the wrong state. In a state where she has a deficit of over million voters going into the election, she’s talking about transgender issues and trying to tie the Democratic nominee, U.S, Representative Abigail Spanberger, to Jay Jones texting scandal.

Look, if this were Kentucky, the Earle-Sears culture war, might work. Probably not because they care about affordability and jobs as well. In West Virginia, definitely. Because education and economics, really “ain’t their thang”, just as long as you are with them on religious and cultural issues. But Virginia, just like with New Jersey, and New York City… highly wealthy and educated states, that have both lost a lot of jobs under President Trump and places where it’s expensive to live. But Lieutenant Governor Earle-Sears thought, that the way you win Virginia is try to convince Virginians that they’re wrong and Virginia should just become part of West Virginia culturally, politically, and educationally.

This is just me, but I think the MAGA leadership in the Republican Party thought that the way you win in Virginia, is not to “moderate” (which means sounding like a Conservative Republican) but to change the gender and complexion of the MAGA candidate. I’m sure that’s tough to hear, but I think that’s obvious.

New York City:

Look, not everyone in New York is a Socialist. At the end of the night, Zohran Mandani only got 50% of the vote and Andrew Cuomo got 41%, and Curtis Silwa got 9%. And if Mamdani gets off to a slow start and his agenda becomes unpopular or stalls, because the City Council doesn’t want it, the new Mayor’s numbers will fall way under 50%. But in a city like NYC, that tends to be way to the left and everyone in the country, that’s east of the West Coast, even a Socialist can win there, when economic times are tough and you have an unpopular Republican President.

And to talk about Chris Cillizza’s broader point about who won and lost that night and what that means going forward, I have 2 points here:

Reps. Boris Sanchez & Brianna Keilar: Pollster Shares Prediction For Race That He Thinks Could Send ‘Shockwaves’

“Ahead of crucial off-year elections, in places like California, New York, New Jersey, and Virginia, pollster and communications strategist Frank Luntz joins CNN’s Boris Sanchez and Brianna Keilar to share his predictions and discuss what he believes is at stake for voters nationwide.”

Source:CNN  talking to Republican pollster Frank Luntz.

From CNN

So I just want to hit on one solid point (not that he only had 1 solid point) that Frank Luntz said here. And then we’re going to go back in time to 2006 and I’m going to give a flashback about the political scene then and how that relates to 2025-26.

So Brianna Keilar asked Republican pollster Frank Luntz a typical, mainstream media question:

“OK Frank – what do you think tomorrow votes will say about the state of the political situation and how Americans feel about President Trump?” (Not her exact words. But very close)

And Luntz responded with a very intelligent answer and said:

“Tomorrow, the people won’t decide what this means for President Trump and the Republican Party. The media will do that instead. Tomorrow, there are 3 local elections:

A mayoral race in New York City

Governors race in New Jersey and Virginia”. (Again, not his words exactly. But very close)

And before I give you the political flashback… before I got back to my desk today, a caught a CNN panel discussion with Kasie Hunt’s show. And they were basically talking about the same thing. And it’s not that they all agreed, but even a left-wing Democrat (Ashley Allison) and Republican pollster David Urban (who was MAGA before MAGA was cool in the Republican Party) agreed on this key point: tonight’s election results are all local.

In the Democratic Party, tonight’s election results won’t decide the debate between mainstream liberalism (or real liberalism) versus socialism. (Which is what some people call progressivism) These contests will decide New York City, New Jersey, and Virginia. NYC tends to be to the left of everyone east of the West Coast anyway, by-in-large.

Tonight, assuming Democrats win all 3 races, all 3 elections will be local. With the winner of those races (assuming Democrats) running the race that’s best for them and their community. Not trying to force mainstream liberalism (the real liberalism) or socialism, down the throats of the rest of the Democratic Party.

And to give you the political flashback I was talking about… go back 15 years and it was either right before the 2010 mid-terms, or right after them and I was watching a C-SPAN panel discussion and they were talking about the impact of those mid-terms. And they had former U.S. Representatives Tom Davis (Republican, Virginia) and Martin Frost (Democrat, Texas) on that panel.

And Representative Frost talked about the 2006 mid-terms where Democrats won back the House and Senate that year. And he was involved in the House Democrats effort to win back the House. He handled the recruiting for the Democrats. And he was basically making the same point that Frank Luntz made, but put it differently. He said the reason why Democrats won the House back in 06, is because they were able to target about 60 (give or take) House Republican seats, when they only needed to pick up 15 to win back the majority. And they made all of those races local.

In 05-06, Democrats recruited candidates to fit the districts that they would run in. Instead of trying to find the most left-wing candidates they could find to win every race. Or the most mainstream Democrats that they could find to win each race. They picked and choose based on who was the best candidate to run in each race, based on the particular district, the incumbent they were running against, the issues the district were dealing with, etc. House Democrats didn’t make the 2006 mid terms national and neither did Senate Democrats. They made every race that they won in that cycle, local.

20 years ago, the way American voters tend to feel about Democrats, is not that different from today:

Democrats are too left-wing or socialist

Soft on defense, soft on crime, won’t protect the streets and the country, etc.

But Democrats won back Congress and a majority of the governorships, anyway. Why? Because the candidates that won, who defeated Republican incumbents, weren’t seen as too far-left, too elitist, out-of-touch, soft on everything important, etc.

The mainstream media like to say that Zohran Mamdani or Alexandria O. Cotez, or some other Socialist, is the future of the Democratic Party, because they’re popular in their own communities, they’re young, are hip, relate extremely well in pop culture, etc. But Democrats won’t win back he House in 06 with Socialists running everywhere. Won’t matter how cool young people think they are. They’re just too out-touch for too many American voters, win everywhere where Democrats will have to win to take back the House and even come close to winning back the Senate.

But Democrats make every district and state race local next year and run candidates that fit that district, whether it’s a Socialist or mainstream Liberal, (you know, real Liberals) and they could have a great year next year. And a great year, or blue wave, is not about just winning back the House and picking up 5-10 seats. But picking 15-20-25 House seats and even winning back the Senate, or at least getting very close, with a 2-3 seat pickup. And you do that with candidate quality, not trying to turn the Democratic Party into a socialist party, or a just for Liberals party.

Jesse Dollemore: 60 Minutes TRIED TO HIDE THIS Donald Trump Interview Segment!!!

“Jesse discusses Donald Trump’s 60 Minutes interview, which aired last night and was heavily edited, a fact that serves as the “justification” for his lawsuit and ultimate settlement with CBS. In the interview, Trump says he doesn’t know the crypto criminal he pardoned, who ended up paying Donald Trump $2 billion!”

Source:Jesse Dollemore talking about The Don of Manhattan who has now taken over Washington.

From Jesse Dollemore

I didn’t watch the 60 Minutes interview. But from people I saw on social media who apparently did see the interview (or what they wanted to see) that’s not what I saw here.

I mean you always want interviewers from mainstream, well-established, news organizations, (like CBS News) to ask hard followups to their hard questions… especially when the interviewee gives a ridiculous answer to the question, or doesn’t even bother to try to answer the question. That’s been the main issue The New Democrat has had with Meet The Press anchor Kristen Welker. Her original questions aren’t that difficult to answer. But she makes that worst when the interviewee won’t even answer that and she’ll just let that person go on as if they were a U.S. Senator, doing their own filibuster. And then she’ll finally come in and say something like:

“There’s so much I would love to talk to you about today. But we’re all out of time for this week”.

But at least Norah O’Donnell did ask some real questions and score some real points here:

“This is a question about pardons. The Trump family is now perhaps more associated with cryptocurrency than real estate. You and your son– your sons, Don Jr. and Eric, have formed World Liberty Financial with the Witkoff family.

Helping to make your family millions of dollars. It’s in that context that I do wanna ask you about crypto’s richest man, a billionaire known as C.Z. He pled guilty in 2023 to violating anti-money laundering laws.

Looked at this, the government at the time said that C.Z. had caused “significant harm to U.S. national security”, essentially by allowing terrorist groups like Hamas to move millions of dollars around. Why did you pardon him?

And President Trump responded to the question about the pardons with this:

“Okay, are you ready? I don’t know who he is. I know he got a four-month sentence or something like that. And I heard it was a Biden witch hunt. And what I wanna do is see crypto, ’cause if we don’t do it it’s gonna go to China, it’s gonna go to– this is no different to me than AI.

My sons are involved in crypto much more than I– me. I– I know very little about it, other than one thing. It’s a huge industry. And if we’re not gonna be the head of it, China, Japan, or someplace else is. So I am behind it 100%. This man was, in my opinion, from what I was told, this is, you know, a four-month sentence.

But this man was treated really badly by the Biden administration. And he was given a jail term. He’s highly respected. He’s a very successful guy. They sent him to jail and they really set him up. That’s my opinion. I was told about it.

I said, “Eh, it may look bad if I do it. I have to do the right thing.” I don’t know the man at all. I don’t think I ever met him. Maybe I did. Or, you know, somebody shook my hand or something. But I don’t think I ever met him. I have no idea who he is. I was told that he was a victim, just like I was and just like many other people, of a vicious, horrible group of people in the Biden administration”.

And Norah O’Donnell comes back (some people might call it a followup) with:

“The government had accused him of “significant harm to U.S. national security”–

Okay. Allowing U.S. terrorist groups to, you know, essentially move millions of dollars around. He pled guilty to anti-money laundering laws. That was in 2023. Then in 2025 his crypto exchange, Binance, helped facilitate a $2 billion purchase of World Liberty Financial’s stablecoin. And then you pardoned C.Z. How do you address the appearance of pay for play?”

And this part from President Trump that I think should scare the hell out of any loyal American who believes in the rule of law:

“Well, here’s the thing, I know nothing about it because I’m too busy doing the other–

From CBS News

And after the pardon exchange, The Rambling Don makes a reappearance and you get to hear how great DJT thinks his family is doing. But you’ll have to find that mini DJT filibuster on your own.

So even though Changpeng Zhao pled guilty to money laundering and was laundering money to terrorist groups like Hamas (and perhaps others) President Trump pardons a man that he claims he’s never even heard of, doesn’t even know. Not to mention the fact that he is in business with the Trump Family’s business crypto financial company.

So either the President of the United States is auto-penning his presidential pardons, or signing them without even bothering to read them first.

Or, another solid possibility and I think it’s a great contender… (I would pick it to the win championship here) President Trump is simply doing what he always does when he’s caught doing something bad to his face, that he shouldn’t have done and just lies about not knowing about exactly what he just did and the crook that he just gave a great deal to, simply because he has a financial or political interest in that person.

The New Democrat has been saying for about a year now: elections have consequences. When you stay home, or vote for a candidate who doesn’t even get 1% of the vote, or you vote for someone like Donald J. Trump, a lot of bad shit happens. (To be frank about it) Like pardoning criminals, who do business with terrorist groups… who even pled guilty to what they would’ve been convicted of. And they only get the pardon because they have a business interest with the current President of the United States.

Late Night With Seth Meyers: Seth Bombs His Audience

“Donald Trump Takes Cognitive Test, Goes on Lavish Asia Trip: Late Night News of the Week”

Source:Late Night With Seth Meyers talking about his favorite comedic target, again!

From Late Night With Seth Meyers

So either Late Night With Seth Meyers had a light audience when this segment was produced, (perhaps Seth was just delivering his monologue in front of his closest family members and people he paid to show up) or this wasn’t very good. Because just from the reactions to his material here and to a certain extent from Seth trying to deliver it, it didn’t go very well.

Seth Meyers even had a joke about New Jersey and tanning salons. Unless you ae from the Tri-State region, how are you supposed to pick that 1 up?

And a joke about Donald Trump (who is from Queens, New York) and what he might do if the Philadelphia Eagles win the Super Bowl, instead of the New York Giants. I mean this could’ve been a local access TV, standup comedy show or something, where only the local convention of insomniacs, are even able to watch it. And those are just the insomniacs who are trying to get some sleep. “(Hey, maybe Seth Meyers will bomb again tonight and we can finally get some sleep)

And even though The King of Late Night Johnny Carson isn’t 1 of Seth Meyers direct predecessors, (that would be Conan O’Brian and David Letterman on Late Night) I think Meyers could’ve used a little Carson comedic magic and timing here when his jokes felled faster than bricks being thrown out of he 2nd floor of a house.

Johnny Carson was a pretty good standup comedian, but he didn’t make it his career. He started off as a magician and got into music, I think he even had a game show at 1 point, before getting into talk TV where his producers noticed that he had an excellent sense of humor, which eventually led to The Tonight Show With Johnny Carson in the early 1960s.

I’m just telling you this because I want to see how many people I can send to the nearest bridge to jump off of, so they’ll finally be spared of having to hear me talk about this anymore. But the other reason I’m telling you this, is since Carson wasn’t a professional standup comedian, (at least not full-time) he delivered his share of bad monologues. But his comedic timing was so spot on and powerful, that he could make his bad jokes sound funny based on how he would react to how his audience would react to his bad jokes. (Now I’m dizzy. But the blog post must go on)

So when Johnny Carson’s monologue would die faster than fish without water, in the middle of a desert, he would pretend his microphone wasn’t working, or say something like:

“Attention, K-Mart shoppers!” Which was his way of lightly making fun of his audience. Any Gen-Xer who sees this, will no what the K-Mart joke is about.

Carson had a bad Valentine’s Day monologue 1 year and he handled that by saying:

“Look, I want you to be kind to me tonight. One massacre on this date was enough”.

Another night where Carson delivered a bad monologue and was tired of sounding like a priest delivering a speech at a funeral, (even a comedic priest) he said:

“That’s it, folks — I’ve got nothing,” to end his monologue for that show.

You can find these Johnny Carson references on Google

But with Seth Meyers, he’s like 1 of those U.S. Senators who gives a filibuster speech and simply runs out of material and gets tired of being the only person in the chamber (other than the presiding officer and the stenographer) and starts telling jokes on the floor, so he doesn’t have to give up the floor. He just goes on and on, when a little comedic self-awareness would’ve been more appropriate.

Jackie Collins: Jackie Collins Talks Lady Boss & The Power of Women

“In this rare television interview from the early 1990s, Jackie Collins discusses her smash-hit novel Lady Boss, the latest installment in her beloved Santangelo series. With her signature wit, charm, and Hollywood sparkle, Jackie opens up about creating powerful female characters, the inspiration behind Lucky Santangelo, and why she believed women could — and should — rule their own worlds.
Blending glamour, humor, and fearless honesty, Jackie Collins reminds viewers exactly why she became one of the world’s best-selling authors and an enduring voice for female confidence and independence.
Bold. Brilliant. Unapologetically Jackie.”

From Jackie Collins

I’ll get to what Jackie Collins was talking about with Oprah Winfrey back in 1990, (which feels like 35 years ago… for some reason) but first I want to share a different perspective, which will lead into what these 2 women were talking about.

So there are 3 types of women in American society and pop culture, from what I see. And these 3 tittles all have their own sub-roles in them. But there are:

Gold diggers: a woman who becomes or tries to become romantically involved with a rich man in order to get money and gifts from him.

Trad wife: the Phyllis Schlafly ideal for a woman and wife. Even though Phyllis Schlafly argued in the 2nd half of her adult life that the role for American women was to “stand by their man” and be 100% loyal to him and raise their kids and even be subservient to their man and never work out of the home and earn their own money. Mrs. Sclafly had her own professional career as a political activist, author, and columnist, from the time she was 39-40 in the mid-1960s, up until she died in 2016. But the woman she talked about, was sort of the opposite of what she was. Her ideal American woman, was a trad wife, who had zero professional ambition, whatsoever.

And then the women that Jackie Collies and Oprah Winfrey were talking about, which is essentially the independent women. Not necessarily women who try to have it all. But women who are independent of everyone else, especially men. Women who have their own careers and make their own financial and professional decisions. And some of these women get married and have children with their husbands. And some independent women never even get married or have kinds. But they always have complete control over their own lives. And the independent women was made popular in American pop culture with action shows like Police Woman and Charlie’s Angels in the 1970s and 80s.

Now me personally, the only kind of woman that I would want to get involved with romantically and sexually, would be the independent woman. Now there’s a downside there as well. Some of these women are not just independent, but are very judgemental to the point that they are not independent, but they think they should rule the world. And men are just pigs and the biggest idiots in the world (not just physically) to the point, that they’re not qualified to decide how they should dress in public and what they should eat. Sort of the straight women’s version of the prick.

But on the upside, independent woman tend to be educated, they’re intelligent, tend to be attractive, (especially if they’re straight) and you probably won’t be financially obligated to them, if the marriage doesn’t work out. Especially if you have a good prenuptial agreement with them.

Gold diggers can be fun… just as long as the man knows what they’re getting into. And doesn’t marry their plaything, because that woman probably wouldn’t sign any prenuptial that wouldn’t leave her with most of her husband’s wealth and property.

The trad wife? Out of the question, for me. I mean, if you are married to a woman like that, especially if you get married while you are both fairly young and that marriage goes 20 years, (give or take) you might end up being financially responsible for your ex-wife for the rest of her life, unless she gets remarried. Because she hasn’t worked out of the home for a long time. Maybe she didn’t have a real career or even a college degree before you were married. It could be like taking care of 1 of your kids who never grows up.

But Jackie and Oprah were talking about what the R&B group Destiny Child’s and the movie Charlie’s Angels (2000) made popular 10 years after this interview… the independent woman. Women who are just as qualified and able to take care of themselves, as men and in some cases do it better. And those women I can at least respect for that.

Tim Miller: Marjorie Taylor Greene Turns On Mike Johnson?

“Tim Miller joins MSNBC’s Stephanie Ruhle to take on the House taking five weeks off during a government shutdown to the absurd “autopen investigation” that’s distracting from the Epstein files. He calls out MAGA lawmakers for pretending to be populists while their trade wars hammer farmers and consumers, and reacts to Steve Bannon’s bizarre talk of a Trump third term.”

Source:The Bulwark Tim Miller talking to Stephi Baby Ruhle about ex-Crazy Baby Marjorie T. Greene.

From The Bulwark

As Fred Schneider wrote about U.S. Representative Marjorie T. Greene 3 weeks ago:

“But for someone like a Marjorie Taylor Greene to ever be able to represent anything other than a gerrymandered, MAGA district, in rural Georgia, to getting elected in a big, diverse state like Georgia, (11 million people) she is going to have to drop her political escaped mental patient routine and sound and act like a mainstream Republican. You know, like a Conservative (for example) and be able to compete in the parts of Georgia where most of its residents live, which is the Atlanta metro area and the big counties there, as well as Savannah. The parts of Georgia that are very urban and suburban, even blue.

Georgia is not Mississippi. (Duh!!!) You can’t win statewide in Georgia as a Republican, with just Anglo-Saxon-Protestant, blue-collar, rural voters. You have to compete and win in the cities as well. This is what Marjorie Taylor Green’s call to political sanity campaign is really about: her winning Georgia.”

From The New Democrat

I’m not going to say something like:

“You know there’s something rotten in Denmark, when even Marjorie Taylor Greene can sound like a mature, responsible, sane, and even intelligent politician”.

Or, something like

“It’s official: insanity has been cured and we can now let all the mental patients out. How do I know this? Because even our favorite mental patient Marjorie Taylor Greene sounds reasonable, responsible, intelligent, and even sane now. So the next person that calls Marjorie, “Crazy Marge”, could be looking at a libel suit”.

Don’t worry, I’m not going to say that. Correction: I’m not going to make those two comments again.

As Fred said 3 weeks ago, the distinguished Representative from the Peach State, wants something more from her career, than to sound a career politician from Mississippi, or West Virginia. She wants to play in the big leagues, politically. And that means not just getting elected statewide, but getting elected statewide in a big, swing state, (like Georgia) where she would have real competition, especially from a Democrat, in the general election.

To paraphrase Fred: the Crazy Baby act on MTG’s part, might just be that. That”s what she did to become a MAGA star. But MAGA might be even to whacked-out, too far from Planet Earth, even for the Marjorie T. Greene’s of this world.

The Hill: Mike Johnson BRUSHES OFF Trump Third Term Rumors

“House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) on Tuesday morning brushed off rumors that President Trump would be seeking a third term, saying that he has fun ‘trolling the Democrats.'”

Source:The Hill with a look at the U.S. Speaker of the House, Mike Johnson (MAGA, Shreveport, LA)

From The Hill

Also from The Hill:

“It’s been a great run, but I think the president knows — and he and I’ve talked about the constrictions of the Constitution, as much as so many of the American people lament that.

I don’t see a way to amend the Constitution, because it takes about 10 years to do that, as you know, to allow all the states to ratify,” Johnson said…

From The Hill

Just to show you the 22nd Amendment and what Speaker Johnson is talking about here:

“No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of the President more than once”.

From the Library of Congress

And the Speaker can try to make fun of Democrats all he wants to, but no question that Donald Trump would try to get a 3rd term, if he thought he could. And there’s reason to believe that the President is looking into getting past the 22nd Amendment. And Steve Bannon has already said as much when he was talking to The Economist last week about this.

But if even freakin Mike Johnson, who would win a Donald Trump ass-kissing contest 100-100 times (I apologize to anyone who might have had food in their mouths when they saw that) and has probably even risked the future of the Republican Party, by being as loyal as he has to The Donald…. if he even not just knows that the 22nd Amendment prevents a 3rd term as President of the United States, then I would have to think that anyone who understands the 22nd, (like the U.S. Courts, FEC, etc…) that they already know this as well.

Inside Edition: New Questions About President Trump’s Health After Recent MRI

“There are new questions about President Donald Trump’s health Monday after he revealed that he had an MRI at his hospital check-up earlier this month. The White House has not released the results of the president’s tests. His doctor wrote a memo, stating in general terms, that Trump underwent “advanced imaging … to ensure optimal cardiovascular health” and concluded that “President Trump remains in exceptional health.”

Source:Inside Edition with a look at Don King. I mean King Don… uh, you know what I mean.

From Inside Edition

I’m going to ask you to use some real brain power here and use your imagination skills… sort of pretend you are on an episode of Rod Serling’s The Twilight Zone and imagine (if you will) that Donald J. Trump was just an ordinary politician. Forget about him being a mainstream Republican… because that went out of the door with disco in the early 1980s. That would seem unimaginable. But try to look at him as an ordinary politician… if you can.

So Donald Trump is just your everyday Joe Jones politician. Except that he’s 79 years old and President of the United States. So the President gets an MRI and a physical. If you were President of the United States right now and you were 79 years old, with the same poor diet that DJT has and the same lack of exercise that he gets, and you are saying you latest health results were “perfect”, wouldn’t you want to release them to the public the day before they came out? (If that were possible) But Donald Trump doesn’t do that because he expects everyone to just take his word for it.

So-called independent journalists like Chris Cillizza and I’m sure others, as well as establishment journalists like Jake Tapper and others, have always argued that they don’t report on crazy things that Donald Trump says and does, because he’s always been like that and it’s not crazy for him. As if always being crazy doesn’t make you crazy. I can’t explain the logic in that, but you are free to give it a shot.

People with perfect mental health, don’t drop AI videos of someone, or himself taking a dump (to keep it clean) on people who are peacefully protesting their government. And that’s just 1 example of 1 of the crazy and irresponsible actions that this man has done as President of the United States.

People in perfect physical health, don’t have swollen ankles and see their hards blackening… especially when they’re not of African or South Asian descent. I’m not a doctor, but he obviously has some type of skin condition and issues with his ankles right now.

But since Donald John Trump sees himself as an American king, (which was 1 of the points of the No Kings protests) he doesn’t feel the need to share his health records and updates to his “peasant population”, also known as the American public and media.
