If you think this section is about big government, you might be smarter than you look, but I wouldn’t necessarily congratulate you for that. This is about the nanny state ( both religious and secular ) and about people who think they know and their big government knows best how others should live their own lives.Even to the point that they would lock people up for not living what they could call a so-called moral or progressive lifestyle.
This is where you see people give their own takes about life in general, including government and politics, but life in general, including celebrity culture.
This is about the Carol Burnett Show, ( naturally ) which is one of the best skit comedy shows ever. Saturday Night Live, before 1975, but about an hour shorter and perhaps just as funny.
This is about The King of Late Night Johnny Carson and the original ( and I at least would argue the only ) The Tonight Show. Different interviews that Johnny Carson had, as well as some of his best stand ups and skits.
This is about the great political satirist/humorist Christopher Buckley. The son of the great Conservative writer William F. Buckley.
This is about the great comedian and political satirist Dennis Miller, who had his own late night show on HBO in the late 1990s and early 2000s.
This is about the great standup comedian George Carlin and some of his best standup performances.
About the great political writer and humorist Hunter S. Thompson.
About one of HBO’s late night host John Oliver.
About the great standup comedian Lenny Bruce. Who was basically the George Carlin of the 1950s and 60s and one of the original champions of free speech and opponents of political correctness in the comedy world.
About the great political satirist Mark Russell, who had his own PBS comedy hour back in the 1970s and 80s.
About HBO’s late night TV host Bill Maher. Who is naturally the host of Real Time With Bill Maher. Not Real Time with Joe Jones or anyone else. Maher, has become the Lenny Bruce or George Carlin of the modern era, who takes on all sides, defends free speech at all costs, and is one of the strongest and most vocal opponents of political correctness. Both the Far-Right and Far-Left hate him, which is why he’s so popular.
This is of course about NBC’s great skit comedy show Saturday Night Live. At least when it was still great.
Old clips and interviews of The Late Show With David Letterman. Who if you took away Johnny Carson, Dave might be the best late night show host ever.
The great comedian Dean Martin, had his own comedy show on NBC in the 1970s.
HBO’s The Newsroom, was a fictional show about a new cable news network and how they cover the news and government and politics.
The Onion, is The Onion: perhaps the premiere news satire publication anywhere in the world. And similar to this page, if you take the posts from the The Onion seriously, you should probably check yourself into a nearest hospital for a missing sense of humor and brain.
ABC, had its own skit comedy show back in the late 1990s and 2000s called Whose Line is It Anyway. Where it was mostly improvisational without a script.
This is of course about the great comedian and writer Woody Allen.
